The food had been sitting out to long. Not many choices on the buffet. Sushi was bland and no sauces to dip into.

New to Tyler and looking for a Chinese Buffet-Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. For $15 Sunday buffet, we found the selection simplistic and average. The available selections were fresh and the serving area was clean and tidy. The salad area was one of the smallest I have ever encountered at a buffet and I love robust fresh selections, so I was disappointed. The dinner rolls were hot, fresh and delicious. Also enjoyed a hot apple tart with hand scooped vanilla ice cream. They do offer a senior or military discount if you ask.

We drove all the way from Wills Point. We called ahead to see if they had crawfish on the menu and the girl said yes we do. We went to eat and got our plates and no crawfish. We asked after a trip through the buffet and not finding the crawfish. And we were told that comes out at 3:30. Okay we got here about 2:15 and called and specifically asked about the crawfish. You would think she would have told us that is only served after 3:30. She said it would definitely be out by 3:30 after we had gone through the buffet line. So we waited and waited and it is now 4:30. This apparently was a lie and since we had paid for lunch no crawfish were coming out until we left. We asked for a manager and we were told there wasn't one. Another lie! We decided to leave very annoyed and disappointed. As we are paying the manager comes out and was very rude. Crawfish served only at dinner he says. Okay what he meant was it is now 4:30 and it is not coming out until you leave! That would have been okay had the girl mentioned that when we called. We would have waited until 3:30 which wasn't that far off. But she didn't and we were treated very rudely! We went specifically to try that dish! If they were that hard up for three extra dollars they should have told us we would have paid the difference for the dinner price. Not come out and get rude to your customer. How about the girl working there who didn't specify that is only served at dinner! We definitely will never return to this place!

I used to go here regularly and quite enjoyed it. Over the past few months I have noticed a marked decline in the food quality. Given inflation I attributed it to the cost of supplies and gave them several more opportunities to improve.Unfortunately the decline has gained momentum and now the staff seem disgruntled and down right rude as well.My final experience was when my family went out for dinner on a Friday evening around 7pm. The buffet appeared picked over and many items appeared dried out as if they had been sitting out far too long. The items that were salvageable enough to attempt to eat were so over salted or drenched in other seasoning as to make it inedible. We’re they using this as an attempt to mask lesser quality cuts of meat or perhaps foods that are at or beyond the use by dates? I can not say.About 24 -36 hours after eating here each person from our party began suffering from severe stomach issues while the balance of our family that did not dine with us remained the picture of health. Not sure if this is mere coincidence or not but I don’t intend to give it a second chance.I’m very disappointed in seeing a once good restaurant sink so low.

Smaller sized buffet compared with other buffets but cozy atmosphere. Very clean too. Each dish is delicious. Food is uniquely flavorful: Roasted Chicken, BBQ ribs, chicken sticks, and shrimp served 4 ways (fried, coconut, salt and pepper, and spicy garlic) were fantastic and my personal favorites. The ribs melt in your mouth. Go for the dinner time menu to get all the shrimp! Live out of town but always make it a point to eat here.

Only shrimp, crawfish, or chicken items offered when we went for lunch last Saturday. No beef or pork items on the menu. Food didn't really taste right. Everyone at our table agreed we would not go back for seconds and we would not come here ever again. We will be looking for a different buffet to try in the area.

I select no stars. But it made me pick. It was absolutely disgusting. But what do expect for $11. The ONLY thing that was half way bearable was the egg drop soup. DO NOT waste your time at this place. Food is bland and gross.

It’s okay, not bad but probably not something we will come back too. Sushi is not good here and the buffet is bland. They do have a couple of good things but most are just okay. We did not get to try the hibachi because no one was working that section the whole time we were eating. Price is fairly high for what you get compared to other buffets in the area.

Buffet price was ok which I got. More than half the food was not "Chinese style" food which was what I wanted. Nice variety though. Everything was fresh and cleaned. I spilled a little soup while serving myself and it was cleaned as soon as I stepped away. They have sushi, a large salad bar, just as large dessert bar. A great place to take your kids for variety but not many Chinese type offerings.

It was ok, and convenient from Homewood Suites. I arrived around 7:30 pm. The white rice was hard, but the sushi was really good. I would have loved warm/hot sushi options but I know that would be difficult for a buffet.

I wouldn't lie about someone's lively hood .....and I wouldn't return to buy more spoiled food ....too bad. I was really looking for Mongolian BBQ.

I like their nice Chinese food and sushi. Very fresh and kind service. The price is good.

I've been to smaller Chinese buffets that are far better than this. The people of tyler must live under a rock cause this place really isn't all that good in my opinion. And it seems like this place would appeal more to those who eat sushi and seafood.

I was very impressed with the quality and flavor of every dish. It’s tasty Chinese-American food and it was only $13 per person for dinner. That’s a great deal for good sushi, habachi, and tons of Chinese dishes and desserts. This place is even better than all the Chinese buffets I’ve been to in Dallas and the staff were super nice and attentive. I’m definitely coming back and bringing the rest of my family. Thanks Yami Buffet! You’ve got a new happy customer.
