Nothing like UVALDE GOLDEN CHICK. Always fresh, delicious chicken & staff is friendly. Regular pit stop for trips back home! Also, best fried okra ever!
Stopped for dinner on the way home and they knocked it out of the park. The service and food was spot on (their roast chicken is tasty) and I'll definitely stop by the next time I'm passing through.

My wife and I used to enjoy coming to Uvalde for a visit then stop at the Golden Chick for brunch. We were very disappointed with the change of atmosphere.Most of the tables, floors and bathrooms were not clean. The communication between the employees was very unprofessional and distracting. The food was ok but not like it was a few years ago. We did not see any leadership or management to keep the restaurant in order.I'm sticking to drive thru service ? or another place to eat. Hope there is a turn around soon. My wife and I would love to return. Thank you.
Roasted chicken is incredible. But seems like not available on Sundays. I went on 2 separate Sundays after church between 1:30pm and 3:30pm and was told they don't have anymore until Monday. Bad service. Worker with bad attitude, threw my trey onto my table. Then she came out to lobby started throwing chairs on tables ,mopping just around where we sat.

It was my parents' treat! Thank you!I ordered a chicken breast meal with okra as my side. The meal was alright. Nothing special. Church's biscuits are a lot tastier.Side note: Please, as restaurant workers, don't rub your eyes, play with your ears or touch your face. It's unsanitary.
