Excellent food and affordable. Best around Waco area. Worth the short drive.

Food was horrible. It over priced. They charge for using a card, not good.

Best mexican restaurant around! This probably the most authentic mexican food you will find near Waco. I'm glad we have it here in our small town. I ALWAYS order El Molcajete, it never disappoints and is definitely the best one around even comparing it to DFW and Austin areas.

I got the ground beef burrito and I ended up getting food poisoning from it and II’ve been sick all weekend with throwing up.

I am not sure if their phone is broken. I tried to contact El Molcajete restaurante mexicano in Valley Mills for nearly 1 hour to place an order. it was busy twice, but when it was running no one never answered the telephone. this has happened on several occasions. it's unfortunate.

I was disgusted. Our waiter had a runny nose. He wiped it on the back of his hand a couple times while taking our order. Back behind the counter, picked up his phone and stuck his finger in his nose up to the first knuckle and dug around a bit, then started playing on his phone again. We hollered wash your hands! He did, then picked up the booger phone again. I could see a young woman in the kitchen. Observed her rubbing her eyes and nose and hair. No hairnet. If I'm sick next week I'll know exactly where I caught it. These people are GROSS!!! Not even basic sanitation practices. Ugh. My chile rellano tasted like something frozen out of a box. Ugh. Drive right on by this nasty place!

This place and it’s owner are amazing. This is a hidden gem in Valley Mills! The food is delicious and very fairly priced. The place has a very “mom and pop”/hometown aesthetic. They have some quarter vending machines with toys and candy for the kiddos, and they have the local newspaper for sale for only $0.75 an issue.Every month they have different specials written on a blackboard, but they have everything from fried fish to fajitas and everything in between.Don’t let the outside fool you, the food is amazing! Just walk in and grab yourself a table next time you drive through Valley Mills. Or call in and grab it to go.

Food was okay, ot as good as old one in Whitney. Servers were not very attentive, only our party of 9 and 2 at another table. Had to call 2 times for refills, once for to go boxes, and once for another drink. Finally went to front to get check, was now told a 4% additional for card usage. Not posted on door/doors, small sign at register and told by server. By the way, it appeared to be 6 + people working and talking behind front counter.

We had enchiladas and also quesadillas and everything was very tasty. Their chips (for salsa) were some of the best we have eaten!
