We stopped in for ice cream during our road trip and it hit the spot! Huge scoops, we couldn’t finish our cups. Would recommend the birthday cake and red velvet! Wedding cake was also great if you like almond flavored things!

Sir, this is NOT a Wendy's. Instead, this is a café that would be a welcome addition to any city and is an absolute gem to find in Van Horn! Thankfully it was a Monday so all of the local mom & pop Mexican restaurants were closed, which otherwise might have stopped us from digging deeper to find Boots and Scoops. It's in a small strip center next to a gas station and it was telling that utility linemen and Border Patrol were parked outside - they always know where the good eats are. We had sandwiches which were fresh, generous with ingredients and excellent. One of us had a toasted ciabbata roll which was the perfect texture for bread - easy to bite into but not soggy at all. And, we broke down and got milkshakes. Made with local, homemade ice cream. We almost turned around and went back for a second one! We waited perhaps three or four extra minutes than if we had gone to a Wendy's for custom created sandwiches and excellent dessert. The interior is also thoughtful for a café in uninspired building architecture. There's a great mural on the wall and they had decorated for the season. You can go to Wendy's in any city in the US any time but you can only go to Boots and Scoops during the day in Van Horn. Eat smart, go here!

Place was great! The popper dip was fantastic and so was the chop steak. Would definitely eat here again!

Really liked this great little place! Best club sandwich I've ever had. Friends that had the ice cream were really pleased with it. Counter order & server brings food - went with a group of 10 and all orders were handled quickly & correctly.

Thank you Julie and staff for hosting our Jefferson Tours group for lunch! This great staff went above and beyond to prepare some very yummy lunches and delicious ice cream. They even opened up the ajointing restaurant so we could sit and enjoy a relaxing lunch. We had a variety of hot and cold sandwiches and ice cream items that were all very good. A great find?

Just went there for the first time. Hrs 5p open. Waited for about 5 minutes and the girl from adjacent restaurant said that they probably were not open because no one would show up. So did not try anything but strange business model.

Great milkshakes! Tuesday they have adult milkshakes too.

Good place to get some ice cream after a long day on a road trip. Was a bit disorganized when we came through and the cashier was more interested in talking with friends rather than provide service to customers. Prices aren't to bad for what you get. We would stop here again when we pass by.

App says they're open. They weren't.

Wonderful spot to stop and get some of the best ice cream you’ve ever had. Made by “Henry”. Meals are lunch hours only, ice cream in the evenings. Delightful! Highly recommend.

Awesome ice cream and baked treats! Their milkshakes are huge and they have plenty of flavor options and mix ins available. Cupcakes were very tasty as well. Everything was quite inexpensive and the staff was very kind!

Only open seasonally despite listings online stating otherwise. Very disappointed that we didn't get a chance to try it.*Edit- We were there a little over an hour ago and the lights were off and door locked and we saw the seasonal sign so we went elsewhere. Don't know what was up ?
