I was working a job in Dallas and headed back to Baton Rouge when I pulled off the road for the night in Van TX when I saw Soulman’s BBQ. Unfortunately it was closed and I was wishing I could have been a bit earlier. A few weeks later I found myself driving through the area again and decided to stop. Damn, I’m glad I did. The food was AMAZING! The service and staff very welcoming too. Highly recommend you give it a try!

I ordered the Monthly Special which was the pulled pork sandwich, 2 sides, and a drink for $10.99 (Dec 2025.) Everything was great! Right next door to Love's off exit 520 on I-20. NO! There is no vegan option...I don't think nor do I care. Come for the Meats! Very tender BBQ Pork. Very casual dining.

We were passing through and stopped, let me tell you it was so delicious. My ribs were tasty and moist. The chicken was so good as well. We will make this a regular stop in our travels back in fourth from Louisiana to Midland Texas. Also the work staff were so friendly and the restaurant was extremely clean.
