The staff is sweet, courteous, and welcoming, even offering a free cold drink to tired customers. The food is delicious, with huge homemade rolls brought out with the drink. Popular meals include the fried catfish, which is excellent, and the fluffy pancakes and crispy bacon for picky kids. The deluxe breakfast burrito and over medium eggs are also good. The special soup of the day was chicken pot pie, and the rolls are huge with perfect texture. The restaurant is known for its pies, but the buttermilk pie had overwhelming amounts of clove. The hamburger steak with sautéed onions, bell peppers, and homestyle brown gravy is spectacular, and the Cheeseburger all the way is excellent with crisp fries. The place is super cute, with a little train that goes around the restaurant. The food and price per plate are much better than other spots, making it a great place for a good hearty breakfast or lunch. Outside on the porch are handmade crosses offered for free.
