I love going to Double Js for a good home-cooked meal. The girls in the front are always so friendly. They have really good home made lunch specials. I enjoy the 70s country they play. overall it was a good experience and I appreciate how attentive the servers were.

My rating of this place has gone down since my first initial review (4 years ago.) The staff are usually so upbeat and nice but not this time, I felt like I was bothering them and in turn waited 30 minutes for a Jr. cheeseburger that was cold alongside cold fries. People that came after us got their food before me. I miss the old staff I guess.

My family used to order from here every Friday night until something happened and the majority of our orders would be incomplete or incorrect. The staff was unapologetic about it every time and often asked us to pay to swap out things for items we originally ordered. One time the drive thru told us they'd accidentally given our order to someone else and asked us to park. We sat for over 40 minutes before going inside to discover they'd forgotten we were out there! The last straw happened a few weeks ago when we ordered chicken fried steaks only to receive chicken fried chicken. We were also missing extra gravies we ordered and were charged for ranch dressing instead, which we didn't order. The boy who took our order chuckled about the mistakes and the cashier didn't apologize and asked us to pay for the extra gravies when they charged us for ranch we didn't even want. So they give us the wrong condiment and want to make us pay extra for the correct one? Why does a customer pay for a restaurant's mistake? The cashier also rolled her eyes when we mentioned this. Unfortunately the food is good but it's a damn shame about the staff.

Chicken strips and cheeseburger, with fries. First time at Double J's, and they seemed to have a following of locals, which is usually a sign of pretty good food. I started slow for a first try. Order when you come in, fix your soda, and sit...with a number, of course. Reasonable wait with time to soak up the ambiance. Burger old-fashioned grill diner style and very flavorful. Fries good. Chicken strips - well seasoned. Staff was helpful and friendly, recognized that we had not been there before and guided us through the process, and made sure our order was right.The menu lists a catfish dinner. Since I am a huge catfish connoisseur, I shall try that next time. Filet right, and there will be no muddy taste. Get rid of all that "dark meat" since catfish it is not meat, rather it is fat. Just saying catfish fileting people, know your fish.Oh, Double Js Eatery. We'll be back.

It's definitely one of my favorite places for country fried steak!
Food was nothing to write home about. We left just as 4 school buses of kids arrived. The restaurant was not big enough to accommodate that many people!!! We will not be going back!

My family traveled to Victoria to see a friend . We were craving a good chicken fried steak and this place had good reviews. My steak was not hot when I got it. My family's was. So maybe I got the first one out. Then again mine was the only one that did not have gravy on it. My fries were cold. Theirs were not. I guess it was not my day. My husband got a burger and enjoyed it.Overall experience for my family was good.
