I worked with Keith Mumphord for several months to cater a family reunion. I live in California and we spoke over the phone and email to get the menu set and get a quote. The event happened and we loved their service and delicious food. We got brisket, chicken, pinto beans, potato salad and tea. He was a pleasure to work with. Hope to get back there again.

I've been going to the Mumphord's for Barbecue when they were Pleasant Green and they haven't ever let me down.... This time, there was something that I had heard about and tried.... The Banana Pudding, well let's just put it like this.... I wish they were open right now... They'll be seeing more of me now that I know...Parking: They have a parking lot with about 10-12 spaces. Also, there are plenty more spaces in an adjacent parking lot, so, there's plenty of room.Kid-friendliness: It's a family owned and oriented business. Friendly environment and staff.

I consider myself a self described BBQ affectanato..Mumffords is one of the 3 best BBQ in Texas. Many accolades. Most of my experience in in Houston, some in Dallas/ Ft worth, and Longview. Muphord is one of the best briskets anywhere. Chicken and pork are good too. And I loved the tomahawks. I do have to say that I have observed that culture differences usually are based on skin color but good food can over come these cultural differences. Almost all the servers were dark skin, but the customers were Latino and white. Clearly, good food over comes any cultural difference. Service is fast and the ambiance is posters on the walls large 20-40 years ago although the poster of the full sized Victoria police women stating you could be one "them" was a bit troubling. Anyway, It's largely great BBQ fast food. Every time I stop by Victoria I plan to dine when they're open. Alias they are closed Sundays and Mondays.

I will not be able to say enough amazing things about this restaurant.Opened in 1904, this amazing gem of a BBQ restaurant will be celebrating their 120th anniversary this year!The smells that we got from the parking lot prepared us for a meal that literally knocked our socks off. Line was not too long, but we also showed up 3 minutes after opening, and there were already 15 people in line.We ordered the four meat plates, and we tried the chicken, turkey, sausage, ribs, and brisket, not to mention the Cole Slaw, potato salad, and banana pudding.Let's start with the meat. The smoke on everything was PERFECTION. Light, yet bold. Present, yet not overpowering. The meat, all of it, was tender, juicy, and melted in our mouths. The rib meat fell off the bone, and the brisket was charred beautifully but tender and delicious on the tooth. By far, the best smoked turkey I have ever eaten.The Cole Slaw was fresh and deliciously creamy and sweet. The potato salad is the same. I don't normally enjoy a sweet potato salad, but I ate every bite.The banana pudding was cakey and perfectly sweet enough.Now, let's talk BBQ sauce. It was the PERFECT balance of sweet, savory, and pungent. The balance of the vinegar was ideal. We bought four bottles if that tells you enough.My only complaint? There was not enough room in my belly to empty the plate and lick it clean.Staff was friendly and accommodating. One of the Mumfords even hand delivered our bottles of BBQ, so we didn't have to go stand in the line THAT NEVER ENDED the entire time we were there, and was out the door when we finally gave up our table.What a beautiful journey through a true lesson in how BBQ should be. Kudos. Keep it up. I would go back to Victoria, Texas, JUST for that plate of food once again.Parking: Extra lot across the street!
