Get the Pho Deluxe!

Edible but not somewhere I’d comeback to. Food was bland. Service was mediocre. Overall very mid for tastebuds and experience.
I decided to give Claypot another try after being let down a couple of times in the past, especially since I saw they renovated and brought in new staff. I was hopeful going in, and we were seated immediately, which was a great start. I ordered the deluxe pho and my fiancé got the shaken beef. The pho was okay, I did enjoy the broth, but I found it odd that there were no side veggies served and no chopsticks provided. I’m assuming it’s just a more Americanized approach, which is fine. Unfortunately, my fiancé’s shaken beef was lacking flavor and tasted more like boiled meat or meat cooked with water kind of bland overall. We’re grateful for the food in front of us, so we ate everything. On a positive note, the pork egg rolls were nice and crispy, and the chrysanthemum hot tea was AMAZING hands down the highlight of the visit. If I came back, it would honestly be just to grab that tea to go. Maybe it was an off day, but for now, I still prefer other Vietnamese restaurants in the area.

First , the food was amazing, as always. 2nd, I can’t remember the name of the waitress, but she has dyed red hair. she came to our table with a mouth full of food trying to take our order - rude?? Where are the manners?? We also asked if she could bring us chopsticks, she ended up just bringing one pair. When we asked if she could bring some for whole table she said mockingly said “chopsticks for the whole table.” She never once refilled our drinks, she was talking in a booth with the rest of the co workers pointing to us. We weren’t rude, just taken back by how she approached the table with a full mouth of food, literally trying to talk and take our order with food in her mouth where we could barely hear her. Her coworker came by and asked if we needed anything , when we explained the situation she was really nice and understanding. But this is the 2nd time I’ve eaten here and the service is crap. The cooks always do an outstanding job! The service should reflect that..

Can you really get amazing Gluten Free Vietnamese food in Waco, TX? Yes, you can at Clay Pot!
We started our meal with Gluten Free Pork Fried Egg Rolls. They were so delicious we had to order another serving!!!
For our entrees, we selected Pineapple Fried Rice, Shrimp Fried Rice and Chicken Bun Xoa. All were delicious!!!
So if you are in Waco for a weekend getaway or are a local, make the trip to Clay Pot in Downtown Waco. You will be glad you did!!!!

Used to go to the old location back when I was in college, first time coming to the new location and I have to say I was delighted that it was just as good as I remember! Staff was very friendly and oh man the pork fried rice is incredible!

I haven't been here in quite awhile and today's meal was not the best at all. My egg rolls were overcooked and extra hard and the shrimp in the fried rice tasted funny like they were spoiled or turning bad. I did let the waitress know about the shrimp. I don't plan on going back to waste money again.

Awful service. Incompetent staff.
i walk in. I give the name MY reservation is under. They send me the wrong way to the patio & whole different party when our table was set inside in a corner the whole time. They called to confirm our 10 person reservation, lied we'd get patio over the phone & still sent us there when they gave it to other customers. Waiter was rude & disrespectful as hes known to be. Your automatic 20% gratuity is a joke. Tip was not earned or deserved.
Cared more about your patio reservation than us when we also booked ahead of time, we are also paying customers that deserved good service.

The night was absolutely beautiful on the back patio at Clay Pot! The service was five-star, and the food was just as amazing. Thank you, Angel, for being the best host — you truly made my daughter’s 17th birthday unforgettable!

Hispanic male waiter was not too friendly we’ve had him a few times already. Always rushing through our orders and didn’t check up on us frequently compared to his other tables he had. Other than that we enjoy coming here but service could be better.
I live out in the sticks where there's no Vietnamese restaurant whatsoever so this was worth the drive to Waco, food was divine, service was exceptional and the atmosphere was immaculate
