Food was excellent! I had the chicken fried steak and it was amazing! My husband had fried catfish which was also delicious! Highly recommend! Service was great too! Everyone should definitely try it!

oxtails,candied yams and collard greens is my go to everything is always delicious and fresh. the staff are friendly and very welcoming. they even have a drive where you can call ahead and pick up your food! one of the best soul food places in Waco.

Ok an honest food review from my taste of Jess Soul Food. I ordered the 3- piece wing plate with two sides and my wife and son had the burger baskets. All the food was hot upon receiving our order. The wing plate was good, my opinion it could have used a little more seasoning on the chicken but to each its own. The broccoli and cheese rice amazing don't change a thing. The yams to me tasted like they were out of a can and could have been touched up a little more. The burger baskets came with two patties and they were nice sized patties. My son who only wanted one pattie said he like the burger overall and said it was better than a burger joint in Bellmead. My wife said the patties could have been seasoned a little more and the fries were regular cafeteria fries with more seasoning on them than the burger. Not a bad place for my first and last time.
