Been missing good German food after living there over 7 years. This one is great. The only drawback was the smoked gouda on spaetzle. In Rhineland Pfalz region where we lived the cheese was Le Gyuere mixed with Swiss or one they called Spaetzle cheese. Asked a German friend who makes this dish every week and she agreed, gouda is too strong. We were disappointed in this dish but the rest was just as we dreamed about. What a fun outing! We took my step dad there for Father's day and it was such a good choice. They were very busy so the service was a little slow but it didn't mar the experience. We even had live music inside! My sister did the buffet, and dad and I had the salmon. We were all very happy with our meals.
Read about this place in a Texas magazine. Was excited to try. We live in Georgetown but moved here from Milwaukee Wisconsin, so we know German food. Also read about the Walburg boys who play German music and yodel on Friday and Saturday nights. . Took the short 20 minute drive and was seated promptly and received our German beer and wine quickly. I ordered the Rouladen dinner and husband chose the buffet. Pros: the potato soup,, schnitzel, brats, shrimp, sauerkraut, red cabbage...
