Ida Mae's Soul Food offers a delightful culinary experience with outstanding dishes. The restaurant serves great-priced and great soul food, including fried hard catfish, smothered wings, yams, and collards, leaving customers thoroughly satisfied. The staff is friendly and professional, making visitors feel like family. Many customers enjoy the delicious meals like fried chicken, chicken & waffles, and smothered pork chops, which are cooked to perfection. The greens are well seasoned and tasty, and the fried chicken is hot, fresh, and seasoned just right. Some guests appreciate the country taste and the welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is a small, loving place where good soul food is served, and customers often plan to return. Parking is gravel, so visitors are advised to avoid flip flops. Overall, Ida Mae’s is highly recommended for anyone craving comforting soul food with a genuine family touch. The baked chicken was dry in areas and greasy, something was missing. The Mac n cheese was just okay, and the greens were too salty, but the hot water cornbread was enjoyed. Service was great for online pickup. Oxtails on rice and gravy, and Chicken and Dressing are fantastic. Catfish is fried well. Sides include greens and Black-eyed peas. The owner is very sweet, and a male server makes guests feel seen. Music in the background was great. Fish, greens, cabbage, blackeye peas, and hotwater cornbread were sooooooo good.
