I ordered the baked chicken. It was greasy.. something was missing. Like all I wanted was some slow cooked baked chicken. It was dry in areas. The Mac n cheese was just okay. The greens were good but too salty. I enjoyed the hot water cornbread. The service was great! I ordered online and picked up 15 minutes later!— on a Sunday!! I’ll definitely go again. I just have to figure out which sides I like. It’s kinda expensive but I guess comparable to the same food at other places. The portion sizes aren’t huge.

This is a Wonderful place! The food is delicious! Hot! And it comes out of the kitchen in a timely fashion. Clean and friendly. Where else can you get Oxtails in the Ellis County or even in the city of Dallas? Probably nowhere. They have them on a nice bed of rice and gravy! Or Chicken and Dressing? They have it and it is fantastic! And finally someone who knows how to fry Catfish! Wow! Sides include greens and Black-eyed peas! The prices are in line with every other sit-down restaurant anywhere. For real homestyle cooking, this is the place. You may have to wait just a minute or two to get a table inside but they have a patio.

I've never been asked to wait in my car, with a buzzer, until my food was ready, I waited for over 30minutes, I had to go back inside and address it

Oxtail Burger Review 🍔🔥 If you've never had an oxtail burger, you’re missing out on something truly special. Tender, juicy, and bursting with rich flavor, this burger had me hooked from the very first bite. The slow-cooked oxtail was melt-in-your-mouth perfection—seasoned just right and paired beautifully with a soft bun and fresh toppings that only elevated the experience. Every bite felt like comfort and indulgence rolled into one. This creation deserves a culinary award!
I could really say I was impressed. If you want soul food with the country taste, this is the place. The establishment was very welcoming. So I had meatloaf, green beans, and mashed potato with gravy. Everything was delicious. Whenever I’m in this area again I will be visiting.
The is a great place to eat, food is excellent!Very friendly and relaxed.Had catfish, greens, and black eyed peas, with sweet potatoe pie for desert,
This was our first time here at Ida Mae’s and they definitely did not disappoint. The staff was very polite, professional and friendly (like family). We had fried chicken, chicken & waffles, smothered pork chops. It was all delicious the smothered chops were like butter…fork tender to perfection. The only thing was I prefer my smothered meat w/rice(that was not presented as a side option on the menu). The greens were well seasoned and tasty, the mac & cheese for me personally was a miss. The fried chicken was hot, fresh, and seasoned. When we’re back we will definitely be stopping at Ida Mae’s and you should too.
The food was delicious and fresh. The location is cute and well kept. Service was prompt and friendly. I'll definitely be back!
