We were a little late getting started from Dallas to Round Rock and neither had eaten yet. As I looked at Google maps the restaurant prospects were not promising until I spotted Country Café only about 1 mile off 35E at Exit 399A in Waxahachie, TX. Everything looked exactly like what we were looking for. We got their Cowboy Special which is served M-F 6:30 - 10:45 for $9.25. The 2 eggs and bacon were cooked exactly the way we asked; the coffee was excellent; and the service (by Sammi) was perfect. We left the place promising ourselves that we would be back the next time we were in the area (maybe to attend the Scarborough Faire which is only 7 minutes away?).

Awsome little place. Home-made cooking. Super friendly staff. I will repeat.

We had heard great things about this place. Went for lunch one day and decided on the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and side salad. worst steak I've ever had. absolutely no seasoning and paper thin. The gravy was like water with a little flour mixed in. No seasoning at all and so thin is just soaked into the steak breading. Gravy thin as water. The potatoes tasted like instant potatoes but again no seasoning at all. The salad was the best part even though it was only a few pieces of lettuce, nothing else.

i stopped this morning on my way home to Mckinney tx. This place is great, it's small, but very clean and just a friendly place to stop for some home cooking. my breakfast was excellent, I think I was the youngest customer in the place (63). I will be stopping again, remember if the locals like it then it's a great place..

My husband and I stopped in for a bite to eat while waiting for our appointment at the DMV. The place is cute, but shortly after ordering a table of old, white men made sure to make us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Choosing to change subjects and talk about Trump’s immigration plans and other ignorant statements. If we hadn’t ordered already we would have walked out but we ended up taking the food to-go. If you’re a person of color, you might be better off going elsewhere so you can actually enjoy your meal.
