We have been visiting Stratford and the Dirty Duck every year since we met. We visited on the first weekend after lockdown restrictions ended for a belated 20th wedding anniversary celebration. We booked a table for drinks with a special request for the window seat in the Actors bar. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and congratulated on our anniversary then shown to the window seat. Table service from the landlord Sam and his team was faultless and friendly. When we got the bill, Sam had given us our first 2 drinks free which was such a lovely touch and made me quite emotional. They had left one of our drinks off the bill so we fessed up and Sam gave us a happy anniversary 'Dirty Duck' post card. Pubs have been so harshly hit by restrictions and we were so touched by their exceptional service. Thanks Sam. You made our weekend. Best of luck for the future. See you again soon.

This is possibly the worst pub food I have ever had in my life - actually that’s definitely the worst. The person responsible for serving up this shocking excuse for food should give up their day job. I had to pay for this muck. I ate 3 chips that were still a bit frozen, one piece of tasteless raw carrot ( no - not al dente just badly cooked)and a tiny piece of what was called a pie. Just shocking beyond words. I didn’t expect Michelin star but something edible. After paying for the meal I had to go to the chip shop because I was starving. Unbelievable!!!!!

We booked a table here as we thought the restaurant looked very welcoming. We were seated on VIP table on the garden. Beautiful interior and the menu had plenty of choice. One of the best chicken burger I have had and my friend had steak which he found to be one of the best he is had too. The nachose starter was also so delicious. Patrick and Toby and rest of the stuff was very friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend.

Fantastic food in a lovely well thought out socially distanced garden. Nice relaxed atmosphere .. staff so friendly and helpful. Good value for money and in a beautiful part of Stratford-Upon-Avon.

First pub visited after lockdown and they’ve done a great job. Considering the amount of people that’s visited the staff handled the orders very well. The new installation with heating, blankets and shelter at the back of the garden kept us warm all night. We were made to feel very welcome my Sam and the team, especially after so long a absence.

Had a lovely time at the duck, felt very safe and the rules for covid were clear and abided well by the staff. Had excellent service from a girl named Alice who was smiley, friendly and very informative. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything despite it being fairly busy, so thanks so much for helping make our evening a good one! Good service and a lovely vibe in an idyllic spot.

If we had been served after sitting for 10 minutes, someone came and cleared a table next to us and still ignored us.

We always try and visit the Dirty Duck each time we are staying in Stratford Upon Avon at least for a drink. This time was no exception. It was a Sunday evening about 7pm. When we arrived, we were asked if we had pre-booked and whether we were wanting to eat. We were honest and said it was primarily for a drink, but possibly food. It seemed we were going to be told it was fully booked, but when we mentioned we might eat, we were shown to a table. We could then clearly see there were tables free in both the back and the bar area. The food was very nice though and delivered quickly. I enjoyed the garlic bread & cheese to start and Gammon & Egg for my main, washed down with a cold pint of Peroni. It was quite filling, so we decided against dessert. As both a female and male had served us, we settled our bill with the male server, and left via the one way system. As we walked through the back, we said bye to the waitress. However, as we made our way through the bar, she proceeded to shout loudly, “Guys, you haven’t paid your tab.” When her colleague told her we had paid, She then simply said, “Ignore me.” This was very embarrassing, even with masks on we felt shamed! People were looking at us. She shouldn’t have shouted this for a start, and then to not even apologize to us, was unacceptable. This showed us up and ruined what was a nice meal. My Fiancée said she now doesn’t want to go back there. It would’ve been a 5 star review due to the quality of the food, the speed in which it was served, and how we were initially treated. Sadly, our experience was quickly changed from an excellent to a poor one and we left embarrassed and annoyed.

We've known the Dirty Duck from various visits in the past, before the Covid pandemic made us feel worried about pub visits altogether. But if you want to feel safe, the Dirty Duck ist is the place to be. Sam and his lovely staff went out of their way to find a well socially distanced corner for us, helped with signing in for the track and trace requirements and looked after us all the way. Food-wise, I can highly recommend the burger selection, whilst my husband is very partial to the Duck's Fish and Chips.
