This Lupe Tortilla in Clear Lake is a joke. I showed up right at the pickup time they promised, and still had to stand around for another 25 minutes, wasting my entire lunch break. When I finally got the food, it was pathetic—only about three tiny pieces of chicken. That’s not a meal, that’s a scam.
To make it worse, I even tipped them $3 on my boss’s card, and for what? Zero attention to detail, zero urgency, and zero quality. Never ordering from here again

Do NOT order the beef fajitas. They have changed their recipe, and they are just average now. They used to be the best in town. NO LONGER! We have repeatedly told management of our disappointment over this change. We know many other regular customers also have complained about the change in recipe all to no avail. For the company, it’s all about profits. The new recipe is cheaper. We frequent Lupe’s so much less than we used to, but clearly not enough to impact their bottom line. VERY DISAPPOINTING that they don’t cafe about their loyal patrons.

I brought an out of state colleague here who for lunch because he wanted to try Tex Mex food. The service was top notch, the food was excellent and the lunch portions were more than fair. It was nice that even during lunch the manager came by to make sure everything was good. This is the type of service you don't get everywhere.

Got the chili con queso with beef & chicken fajitas. The food presentation was good if not a bit expansive(lots of little dishes of the sides covered the table leaving little room for anything or anyone else) tortillas were too large and easily tore in the middle. Taste wise everything was good.

If you want to wait over an hour for takeout this is the place for you! We ordered at 7:30pm and left with our almost correct order at 8:40pm. Shoutout to staff for being extremely condescending when we did ask about our order 40 minutes in!:)

Do not order here if you want to get somewhere on time. Only order to go if you have nothing to do for the rest of the night and you are not very hungry!

Meelena was an excellent waitress. Prompt, friendly, courteous, and helpful. Food was fantastic, full of flavor and generous in portion. Manager checked on us ensuring our experience was a positive one. All in all, 5 outta 5 stars.

The restaurant was hidden from the road. I turned in at the sign and realized I had to go past the hotel to get to the restaurant. While we were waiting for someone to arrive there was no place to sit but once we were ready we were seated quickly. Chips and salsa were brought out. There were two kinds of salsa, one spicy and one mild. I really like the mild one. It took a while to have our order taken and for the food to come out. When it did it was hot. I ordered the tamales with rice. The rice was a little dry but it was tasty. The tamales were okay. There is a limited children’s menu available. I thought the service was a bit slow but it was friendly. The manager even stopped by to see if we needed anything. Not my favorite Mexican restaurant but it was good.

Arrived was informed 25 minute. I waited infront of the hostess station. 45 mins pass by and still wasn’t seated. I notice it was 8 open tables available. I walk to the counter ask how much longer. Host ask for my name and told me we tried to call you. Remind you I was standing in-front of the hostess station they never call or text. They finally sit us in a room in a corner that it was a party of 20. The waiter pass menu. Wasn’t friendly, didn’t introduce himself, didn’t offer recommendations like he did for the other table. I was so mad I didn’t order I just let my son eat. The waiter was very short and dry. But was very friendly with the other table. Then a short gentlemen with a hat came in walk to large table ask how everything was. They respond he walks out and never acknowledge our presence. This was my first time visiting and was very disappointed in my experience.

Lupe Tortilla always delivers. Whether you're stopping in for a quick dinner or planning a night out, this spot is consistently top-tier. The food? Solid every time. The service? Friendly, fast, and on point. You can tell the team here actually cares.
The vibe strikes a perfect balance — great for families (plenty of space, casual and welcoming), but somehow even better for couples. One of the best parts? We rarely have to wait for a table when it's just the two of us. That alone makes it a go-to date night spot.
Pro tip: if you’re rolling deep with a group, call ahead — this place fills up fast when it’s busy.
And let’s talk about the beans. Don’t sleep on the complimentary bean dip — it’s a 10/10. Creamy, seasoned just right, and totally addicting. Honestly, if they sold it by the tub, we’d take it home.
Bottom line: Lupe Tortilla hits every time. Great food, great service, great energy. Just keep the beans coming. 🙌🌮💯

Saturday we ordered fajita breakfast tacos from door dash and they were terrible. The beef was cold and tasted reheated. We couldn't eat it and fed it to the dogs. Today we decided to order a to go of the same thing and it was just as bad, if not worse. Totally thrown in the trash. The fajita beef is awesome, best around, not sure why the past two days have been so bad. We are taking a break from Lupe's.

Save yourself the trouble and go to the Bay Area location. My friend and I met there for dinner and waited 2+ hours for food that never showed up to our table. When I first walked up to the hostess stand I explicitly told her that we would be a party of 2 with one highchair. She said great it’s going to be a 10 minute wait. Okay fine. Once it was time to sit, tell me why the hostess brought us to a table without a highchair. My friend had to wait with her toddler in her arms until a high chair could be found. Slightly irritating but whatever. We ordered a Mac and cheese and appetizer first. Then about 15 minutes later our waiter took our order for our entrees -or so I thought. We waited for 1 1/2 hours for our food and by this time the kid was tired and pitching a fit. I asked our waiter to go ahead and bring to go boxes when it’s ready so we can pack it up and leave. He kept saying it’s plated already but I’ll bring you boxes with it. Tell me why if it was plated it took an additional 30+ minutes to get our food. The manager came by and noticed we had been there for a while. Yeah no shit… everyone around us had food. When we finally got the to-go food I received no offer of comp for any of it. And come to find out when we went home the food we ordered wasn’t even correct! It’s not worth your patience and money to go to this location :)

Been coming her for years but never had a chance to rate it.
5 stars all the way. The beans are delicious! The queso exceptional.
Love their drinks as well!
This place is a family favorite
Forgot to add the tortillas are one of kind super big and thin. I like that when they bring us our fajita they leave a large leaf of lettuce in the bottom of pico/guac. Which is great when you're trying to watch calories after drinks and queso 😅, cause I use that large leaf as a tortilla,
