As I arrived I noticed that every piece of silverware & glassware at my table was dirty. Then my sake & shot glass were both dirty. Also, as I say by the window, overlooking the entrance I saw something that I have never seen while eating before. As I looked at the square pillars that held up the awning of the building, that connect to the restaurants ceiling I saw it. A crack at the base of the pillar. In & out of that pillar were MULTIPLE rats that were going in & out. Needless to say, I will NEVER dine there again. Period.

Not a comment on the staff, but the food. The miso soup was too salty to eat, the onion soup was not onion soup but chicken broth, the unagi Don was undercooked to the point that I didn't eat it, which is saying something because I'm a fatty that eats just about anything. Staff was awesome.

Made a to-go order a couple of weeks ago. Here is the breakdown of my experience.
Food: The sushi tasted very fresh and was nicely made. The beef teriyaki hibachi plate was absolutely mesmerizing. I will definitely be getting that again!
Service: As stated, I placed a to-go order, but the staff greeted me at the door and ensured I received everything I paid for.
Price: The term "you get what you pay for" applies here in a good way. The prices are competitive, but at the end of the day, you're paying for quality handcrafted sushi. Well worth the money, IMO.

First time trying Masa Sushi for takeout and certainly won't be my last. We had the sauteed shrimp with mushroom bento along with the tonkatsu bento. The portions were ginormous. I love shrimp, but I normally only eat it at seafood restaurants. The shrimp were very meaty and the veins were cleaned, so that's a plus. I never order tonkatsu at a restaurant because my Japanese mother prepares it at home. This one was so good! Also, the fried rice is more like homemade Japanese rice. It's the first restaurant rice that I enjoyed eating. Everything, even the salad dressing was great. I can't wait to try Masa Sushi again.

By far the quickest to go service I have ever experienced. Parker took care of my order and he was dedicated to his job and very courteous. I've dined in a few times and the food is also consistently top quality.

I went in around 1:30 pm, it was just okay. My sushi didn't seem to be rolled very well. I overheard a Spanish conversation talking the 'fat white girl' that made me feel a bit put out. I spoke Spanish when I left but they probably didn't think I understood what they said.... Very low class kind of place or thing to say about the patrons. I shouldn't have left a tip, but save yourself the trouble&go to the one by HEB in the bay colony location...
Always a good sushi experience here! The food is delicious. They've changed over the years, but no complaints. On a side note, the music could use a revamp.
