This is my favorite place to eat, as I grew up coming here as a kid. I always get the chicken fried steak, fresh cut fries, okra, a side of catfish, and six pieces of pie (to go). The food is always great.
They charge for the pie per slice or a discounted rate for a whole pie, and since I get six they usually charge the whole pie rate. Except last time. I don't know if it was just a mistake or if they've stopped doing it, but I specifically mentioned to the waitress that I get six for the discounted rate.
Aside from that, my one complaint with this place is that they charge a fee for paying with anything other than cash.

Stopped in yesterday on the way back from Madil and had the Catfish lunch special. Fish was well cooked, crisp and not greasy, okra was good , fries were pretty good(I prefer mine a little over done to be fair) and the price for the amount of food was great. The wait staff was quick and courteous, and the restaurant and bathroom were spotlessly cleaned. Great place to stop and grab a bite.

We stopped in at Catfish Haven and I’m glad we did. I had the fried chicken tenders and they were exactly what you want them to be. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, and clearly cooked fresh. The white gravy was spot on and paired perfectly with the chicken. Toast was warm and buttery, not just an afterthought on the plate. I also tried the broccoli rice casserole and it was solid comfort food, cheesy and flavorful. The salad that came with the meal was fresh and simple, good lettuce, real tomato and onion, and decent house dressings. Nothing fancy, just done right. Service was friendly and quick, and the atmosphere felt like a true hometown restaurant. You can tell this is a place that’s been doing the same things well for a long time. Big portions, fair prices, and food that tastes like someone actually cares how it comes out. If you’re looking for a reliable spot for classic comfort food, this place delivers. We’ll definitely be back.

43 YEARS! Have paid off and they have got it down to a science! Don't settle for the catfish buffet in Gainesville. Make the drive north on 377, it is well worth every moment you wait and the $3.00 extra dollars for the lunch plate.
Fast, hot, crispy perfectly cooked food with a portion enough for two! All their sauces are homemade and delicious.
All the food was perfectly seasoned and cooked. These folks know what they are doing when it comes to catfish.
If you want pie, there is enough for an army to choose from.
The atmosphere is nostalgic with both southern and western flair.

This restaurant sells refried catfish. That's been sitting in the pan. Refried fries and refried okra, not good at all.

Catfish undercooked hush puppies overcooked hard as a rock coleslaw sorry taste fried green tomatoes not good due to the batter. The whole meal horrible. Told the waitress and she said she as sorry. Don’t eat there!0 stars given to them.
