First, I don’t write this to attempt to destroy a business. I’m writing because the owner needs to be aware. We have gone to this restaurant for YEARS, typically once a week. We don’t go nearly as often now.
The service has gotten pretty bad, starting with the kids at the front desk with hair hanging over their eyes, who have no clue what’s going on, or any customer service skills. The last time we ate here, it took forever to even get our drink orders taken. The table next to us was a party of 4. They came in after us, we had already ordered before they came in (we had 5 in our party), and they got their dinner before we ever got salads. Everyone around us was getting their salad with their meals, instead of before, and we had to ask 3 times for our salads before we finally got them. Our appetizer came after we’d eaten most of our dinner. One couple got up and left because they hadn’t been waited on. There were plenty of wait staff, and there was not a huge amount of people waiting to be seated (which can be normal on a Friday night). Our tickets were incorrect after we waited forever to get them.
Other than the service, the ambiance is definitely not what it used to be. The lighting used to be warm and inviting, now it’s cold and harsh, and so hard to see in the building. The light bulbs should be soft, warm lighting, in my opinion. There hasn’t been any music over the speakers in a couple years or longer. We asked a waitress about it, and she said it broke a long time ago, and the owner never had it repaired. We came back a few weeks later, and there is now a small speaker sitting on a table between two waiting area chairs, playing country music that can’t be heard unless you’re sitting right there beside it. A joke!
The last thing, which doesn’t affect whether I’d eat here or not, but worth a mention while I’m at it- the fireplace is never used in the winter anymore. That used to add so much to the ambiance when it was cold outside.
This used to be a classy, Wichita Falls staple that you could recommend to visitors and friends, and be proud of. It’s seriously lacking right now, but with some adjustments, could be that way again.

Food was amazing
McBrides piqued our interest as we passed through the area, and Mrs. Flip Out really enjoyed this restaurant. We started with the fried mushrooms and the Littles surprised us by really enjoying them. One Little tried the catfish and the other had a hamburger. Both enjoyed their meals. Mrs. Flip Out had a lunch filet mignon, and she thoroughly enjoyed it. It was cooked to perfection and had tremendous flavor. I had a chicken fried steak lunch and it was delicious. The sides were all good as well. This was a neat place to have lunch along our trip.

I really can't think because we were absolutely freezing. We were there April 25th and the air was turned low blowing right on us.

I ordered the petite sirloin with some mashed potatoes and garden salad. The food was excellent with no overpowering saltiness. I liked how they gave us a variety of items to dress up out salads. Excellent meals for our family.

Terrible service starting at the hostess stand. In my thirty years of life, I've never been treated so rudely. No salt on the fries, tasted like hunks of cardboard. I ordered the 10 oz sirloin, waitress charged me for the ribeye and a full size soda for a child's drink. They serve crackers before the meal like a cheap diner, no bread. Steakhouse prices, definitely not justified. I will not be returning. Very disappointing, considering how busy this place always is. Just goes to show that Wichita County needs a proper local steakhouse that doesn't rely on geriatric loyalty.

Disappointing at this price point. Salad is iceberg and spinach with 2 grape tomatoes. The baked potato is served with the toppings in plastic cups. They serve cocktails, but they have no bartender and the servers have to mix drinks. Steak was undercooked and had no flavor. This was our second visit as we wanted to give it another try, but this location isn't worth the price.

Visiting my daughter and stumbled upon this place. It is small. No windows. Kinda dark. Do not let that fool you. Our food was outstanding!!! THE drinks were great! Worth every penny. This place is one of those hidden gems they always talk about. Do yourself a favor and eat the ribeye.
