The food was disgusting, green beans tasted of vinegar, over salted and like canned spinach. I ordered a sirloin which was thin and tough as leather. The waitress was good.

Sign on the door and google says open until 8 pm. This is the second time we have been refused service when we arrived at 7:30. Restaurant wasn't even that busy. This is absolutely ridiculous and not a way to run a business.

Just moved back to Wichita Falls after years away, and Pioneer was one of the first stops. It hasn't skipped a beat.
The Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs breakfast is just as good as it ever was. The steak features a perfectly executed breading smothered in a rich, deeply flavored peppered country-style cream gravy, alongside perfectly cooked eggs.
If you've been away for a while, rest assured: the standard hasn't dropped a single bit
Experienced servers!!!! Indifferent hoststess unfortunately. Side items (mashed potatoes and gravy and others) lack effort by the kitchen. They had very average flavor. Steak was good. An interesting fried side item with jalapeño was very good.

Price is okay, lunch and dinner menu is okay. Everything is decent. I hope breakfast is more impressive.
Edit: Breakfast was unfortunately even more disappointing in both service and food. Somehow comparatively more expensive with less variety. Shame.
It's a family history restaurant

(Update)
Sadly, it seems this location has made some changes for the worse. The food was all very bland and I suspect they've begun catering more to an aging clientele. The decor is fine, though not the best for maintaining a clean establishment since muslch of it was covered with dust or other residue.

Waited forever on the worst chicken fried chicken ever. I'm never returning. Always wanted to come here. Got that out of my system.

I had high hopes for breakfast that were quickly dashed! The food was terrible! All of it! I have nothing good to say about any of it, even the coffee tasted old and burnt. How do you mess up breakfast that bad? Its was a ham and cheese omelet, toast, hash browns and coffee. Steer clear of this place if you have any taste buds at all!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. This was the worst food I have eaten in my life. The special was meatloaf. When it came out it looked like vomit on a plate. After trying to cut into it the texture was of potted meat. It smelled like caned cat food. The sides were straight from the can with no seasoning added. Could not stomach more than 1 bite. Service was awful, staff was in corners talking rather than tending to customers. When addressing the issues with the food the manager laughed and blew it off saying “it depends on how the cook feels what you get”
