We ate here for the first time this week and glad to find a decent tex mex spot closeish to home! The house happy hour margaritas were huge and strong enough for $6ish. My husband enjoyed both the complimentary salsas, I preferred the green, the red has a bit of smoky flavor. The chips were fresh and light. We also ordered the queso compuesto. I was expecting just a bit of avocado on top but there was a ton of avocado through your the dish! Which is always nice so we don’t have to fight over who gets to eat the avocado tease - no avocado tease here. I had the stuffed avocado with beef - the breading was light and when you cut into it there’s just a ton of oily gooey cheese that spills out, medium rare cooked tender bite size pieces of steak, all wrapped in avocado. I had the veggies instead of beans which were perfect. My husband the elote loco and enjoyed it. We both had leftovers and were able to enjoy those for a whole second meal the next night. Beyond a delicious meal, we were well taken care of from the time we walked through the door. Quickly seated, multiple drink and chip refills, and everyone was friendly. Thanks for a great experience and we look forward to visiting again soon!

Came here Friday night with my friend and our kids. The food was great, service was good for the most part except when we were ready to leave our checks were brought but were waiting for a while before the server came back to get the payment. I will be back with my husband and kids. ?

although the lunch prices were reasonable, the food was bland, no taste. no saltshakers on half the tables. the green sauce/red sauce seemed watered down (compared to Las Cucos) . Asked for a to-go soda at end, was handed an empty cup to pour the remaining soda i had into. would not go again

Always enjoyed the food at this place, but I think we were done going to this location. Great food for reasonable prices, but it's hit or miss with the service. If you get a female waitress, it's great, or one of the younger guys but the mid aged male waiter that seems to always be there is constantly in a bad mood or just lacks all customer service ability and doesn't offer any enjoyable service. He doesn't say anything rude specifically, but it's how he acts, never smiles, hardly speaks (example after we order he just walks away without any acknowledgment about our order) and gives off the vibe that he doesn't care at all. He really ruins the atmosphere every time for us. Several times, when we get him as a waiter, we debate just leaving. Who wants to enjoy mexican food and margaritas with a grumpy sour puss waiter? If he was nice and friendly, the place would thrive. Idk if the Woodlands location is owned by the same people, but it's worth the drive down for their service from now on.

I recently had a very unpleasant dining experience at Cilantro’s Mexican Grill that I feel compelled to share. My family and I are new to the area and were looking forward to trying out a local restaurant. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the behavior of our waiter, a short, baldheaded, husky male, who exhibited a noticeably nasty attitude towards us from the moment we were seated.
His negative demeanor was starkly apparent and contrasted sharply with the way he interacted with another family seated nearby, who were of a different race. While he was quite positive and accommodating towards them, he was anything but helpful with us. He spoke very little, and when he did, it seemed like he either did not know English well or simply chose not to engage with us. However, this was clearly not a language barrier issue, as the other family he attended to also communicated with him in English.
His poor attitude was not just a matter of misunderstanding; it was evident that his behavior was deliberate. Despite our attempts to communicate politely and ask for assistance, he remained unhelpful and rude throughout our meal. It was disheartening to see such a difference in treatment based solely on our race.
As newcomers to the area, we were particularly disappointed by this experience. We had hoped to find a welcoming and enjoyable dining spot, but this was not the case at Cilantro’s Mexican Grill. Customer service should be consistent and respectful to all patrons, regardless of their background. I hope Cilantros Mexican Grill addresses this issue promptly to ensure that future diners do not have to endure the same mistreatment.
