It's a place i could live without.. family style.. everyone eats the same thing.. cold food.. God your own drink.. carry your own dishes . Not a place for me.. the food would've been better if it was hotter. Chicken was the warmest. Everything else.. tasted like it had been sitting for awhile..I would never go back

Whenever we're in East Texas my wife and I will make every effort to visit Pickett House. This last time we made an hour+ detour to enjoy lunch there. We fed on the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, chicken and dumplings, black-eyed peas, greens, pickled beets, biscuits and cornbread and peach cobbler a la mode. As always, not one dish is over seasoned or over salted. Just delicious comfort food, prepared to perfection. The fried chicken is probably the downright best I've tasted. Don't change anything, Pickett House. Every visit is pure enjoyment.

I've never been here but I sure want to go I miss good old-fashioned cooking and ah eating
Paid for 5 adults but they brought out food for 2. We had to make several trips to the cashier to ask for more food. They never offered to bring more food. You have to get your own drinks and they want you to bus your own table. You prepay before you eat and they ask for a tip at that time. With the type of service we received the tip was not deserved. Be better

The nicest people work here. We really loved the food and the area. Reminds me of the boarding house we would eat at when I was a kid. Excellent iced tea and lemonade. We will be back.
