Doing good job on greens. Need a few more days to grow everything in. The grill has a great burger and nice club sandwich.

Beautiful scenery but don't bother bringing your putter. Greens are absolutely horrible. Fairways are ok.

Playing golf in having a nice hamburger after. What else can you ask for?

Visiting Waco family and played a few courses. We had to hustle due to a pending storm. No interaction from the pro shop just handing card back and keys to cart. Headed to first tee and was concerned about how the course management was going to be. Bare tee boxes surrounded by overgrown tiffs of grass in the fairways. The greens were the worst I've played for poiana covered greens. Dead. We understand if there have been irrigation issues but this is just poor management. Pro shop could have been nicer giving a little heads up or offered discounts due to conditions. The layout is fun and it has a ton of potential.

So I played there a few weeks ago as a single. Anted to play the course and see how I liked it. Course has a great layout and greens rolled great. I called back this morning to see if there was a group of guys that play on the weekend and the Pro said no. I ask a few more questions and it was like they didn't want me out there. I had planned on going to play there with a group and join. But after this interaction I think I will look for a new home course to join in my new home town.

This golf club has grill. They are open most days until 4 PM but much later on weekends. We go visit or get take out when we don't feel like going far. A really decent spot for burgers and fries. They also have breakfast. Great spot if you live in Riverside or near Speegleville Road and 84. Highly recommended.

The new ownership of this course has kept all his promises. The course is getting back to be the course to play in central Texas. New greens and great layout make this a fun course for all levels of play.

We played this course in October and the layout was good, but for $50 a person, the course wasn't quite what we were expecting. Hubby made notice that he has never seen such disconnect before between the design of the course and the maintenance of the course. It has some really unique holes, but the fairways were so rough (hard ground, holes and plenty of weeds), that that detracted from the beauty of what the course could have been. On course care alone, hubby would give them a 2, but the layout and the fact that someone mentioned new owners, I'm upping it to a 3, hoping that they will get there sooner rather later. The staff was nice and because we played early, we did not have the chance to try any of the food offered at the course.

The new owner is getting this course back in shape. They have already made a lot of improvements including new carts. It's a beautiful layout and when spring arrives, this course is going to be back. A little expensive for the course condition now but by this summer it should a fair price. Nice little restaurant as well.

Ate at the new grill at the Bear Ridge golf club. For a place that just opened, it's really quite good. The people that run the Brown House Café are running this place and it offers some very solid staples. Chicken fried steak is great, fried pickles are awesome. Their burgers were very good too and even their BLT was notable. (mozzarella sticks were odd--huge chunks of cheese). Overall this place is starting very out good and, hopefully, will get even better with time.
