Getting to Swen's from Snowbird was made easy by the very reliable Alta Resort shuttle (we do this every year at least once) and the food, service, new menu and ambience was just perfect.
This was our second visit to Swens. The general ambiance is very nice although can be a bit loud given the location hosts large groups. Salads were wonderful, Sea Bass perfectly prepared. The one low note was the octopus starter. It was over-cooked and served on a bed of diced potatoes and olives although olives dominated the flavor profile overwhelming the seasoning.
We are at Swens several times for breakfast and then once for dinner while staying at the Snowpine Lodge. The food was delicious, but the dinner was extraordinary. My wife said it was the best meal she had had at a restaurant in years. In addition to inventive and delicious food, Alyssa was a wonderful and attentive server, making great recommendations and taking good care of us.
We had another great dinner at Swens. The service was top notch from the moment we were greeted at the door until we departed. Our server Alyssa was the best. She was not only friendly but really on top of everything. She accommodated our food restrictions with courtesy and made us feel comfortable. The food was wonderful. The scallops are a must have. The presentation and taste were impressive! Our meals the duck breast and iberico pork were well prepared. We look forward to our next visit next year!
Food and atmosphere were phenomenal. We were there for dinner and will definitely be back for lunch or brunch to take advantage of the views.
We had a great dinner at Swens, and the food was delicious. Was one of the best cooked Sea Bass we've had, and the wage/elk/bison burger and fries were amazing! The team was very polite and knowledgable, and we had a great view of the snowy mountains.
Food was average for a dinner of 1/3 the price. Just not anything special. Had a mean at Salt and Olive earlier in week at 2/3s price that was on a different level. Nice ambience and feeling in place, just not good food.
Overall Swen's was nice. You can't beat the atmosphere. The restaurant is beautiful and the views are unmatched. The food is very expensive for the quality and service. The quality the food is okay. But not good enough for us to want to return. The service is okay as well. The servers are wonderful people, just trying to do their jobs, but not trained servers. We had a nice time, but not sure we would consider returning.
I love good pork chops. This was one of the best. OTOH, the two young men servicing the table were very nice, but totally untrained. Did not check on us, and when we ordered dessert and then waited 20 minutes with no sign from anybody, we got up to find our server and tell him to cancel dessert, he eventually brought us a bill with desserts still on it. Totally untrained.
Food was awesome, but pricy. Expected that for a canyon diner. But waitress was MIA most of the time here. Never refilled coffee or water, and couldn’t find anyone to get our check either. Not worth it in my opinion

Small menu with limited options. My partner was happy with the salmon and I had the chicken, which was just OK. Skillet cookie was delightful. Price is high and expected for a mountain resort hotel. Service was friendly.
It is a nice upscale restaurant at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon. The view looking up Collins Gulch and Albion Basin is spectacular. The food was wonderful and the service was attentive.

Lovely views of the mountain and delicious brunch. Servings are appropriately sized. Servers were delightful. Beautiful, welcoming atmosphere. Even for fine dining, I didn’t feel out of place in yoga pants in the morning.
This was the saddest Mothers Day brunch ever. The omelette was small and came with no side despite the $25 price tag. We were in and out in 20/30 minutes. They did nothing special for mothers. The food was not good. We won't be going back.
Way over-priced. I made a reservation for 6:30 but needed to change to 7. On OpenTable it showed 6:30 pm was it. We arrive on time to find the place was empty. The food was subpar (had the ahi appetizer [ok, but a bit fishier than traditional ahi tuna], the shishito peppers [could reduce the amount a light out pan fry or tempura...sauce is great], and the Caesar salad [best thing we had...loved the two anchovies on top]). Decided 8 oz $90 dollar filets (yes, per person) was a bit much...may have been willing to do a $45 4 oz filet. I know...the same, but not really...who eats 8 oz at one sitting??). For $90, maybe a waghu filet [not a waghu sirloin...ick. Or better yet, let's have a Bison Filet option!!). The place was totally empty and very sad. Beautiful place but could have been so much better!
