“My son and I were there on Monday, 08/27/26. Stayed up there for a few days and was done with the other bar-type food options in town. 1st Chair is new since December 26, and decided Ramen looked good, so stopped in. I ordered the Midnight Tonkotsu, my son ordered the Mountain Miso, and we both ordered the Thai Mango Sticky Rice.
The Tonkotsu and the Miso were brought out to us first by a gentleman named Tom, which we later learned was the owner. The Ramen bowls were awesome! We try ramen places regularly and this place is definitely one of our top places so far. My son loved the Miso and stated it was really good. He can be particular at times so that says a lot. I thought the flavor of the Mountain Tonkotsu with the black garlic oil was fantastic. The only other place I have had good black garlic tonkatsu was on Oahu. I added some crunchy garlic chili to the Tonkotsu that really made it pop. I highly recommended asking for some on the side to add to yours as well.
Later, Tom brought us the Thai Mango Sticky Rice. OMG, soooo good! It is on point and matches a Thai place here in Arizona which we consider to be the standard to judge others by. Definitely, get it!
When speaking with Tom, you can quickly see he is passionate about his food. He was born and raised in Thailand, and it is important for him to share great food from his culture with others. When visiting Brian Head, UT, I highly recommend giving Tom and 1st Chair Thai & Ramen a go. It is worth the stop and you won't be disappointed.“
