Georgie’s Outdoor Mexican Cafe

BE AWARE if you require GF food!! Although a few of their menu items are labeled GF there is cross contamination in their food items. Upon asking about their nacho corn chips (GF), they are fried in the same oil as their flour tortillas. This made me question their preparation for other GF items and cross contamination. The owner became very defensive about their GF items when I asked questions so I doubt they change gloves or prep corn tortillas on a different surface than their flour tortillas. I would advise not to eat here if you have a gluten allergy, it may be okay if you are gluten intolerant.

We ordered the nachos grande and grilled tacos. The guys taking our order was super friendly and patient. The nachos grande were the best we have ever had! The grilled tacos were excellent (although I prefer flour tortillas over corn). We thought the prices were a tad high and almost didn't order, but in the end we were glad we did!

One of our favorite food memories of our two week trip through Utah. We had the chicken taco salad, pork and beef tacos and horchata. Everything was served hot, seasoned well and clearly very fresh. Loved the beans and rice that came with the tacos. The “food truck” and terrace area had a super fun design, the family serving us was very kind and the gentleman recommended us to make room on our cameras to record the upcoming section of Byway 12 (towards Torrey). Lovely business!

Wonderful service. I got some great fish tacos and an espresso. She provided a comfortable atmosphere to enjoy my meal. As a side note, I bet she'd make a stellar vegetarian dish.

Run by a lovely couple and the food here is to die for!! Was travelling with my family from bryce canyon to capital Reef (via route 12) fish tacos, veggies stir fried rice, egg rolls, strawberry lemonade.. Support local business!!! ❤️

Such a cute spot. Georgie was sweet as pie! The taco salad was drool worthy and the breakfast burrito was super great too. Their dressings are house made.

We’ve been visiting Escalante several times a year for a long time… visits have been better the past few years since Georgie’s has been open. This place is outstanding by big city food truck standards, amazing they’re available in this great small town.

Fresh, quality Mexican food….amazed to find food of this quality in such a remote place. That being said, all of the eateries in Escalante are impressive.

Everything is very fresh. The cod tacos are excellent. Servings are plentiful. I took half of nachos and side of chips back to trailer. 10% off for those staying at onsite rv park.

PHENOMENAL FOOD!! A MUST EAT!! I have a sensitive stomach and they had gluten free options and the cooking oils didn’t bother me!! Nothing felt greesy (which I love). IT WAS DELISH. Only wish they had cheese dip because I was craaaving it BUT I wish were were staying in town longer because we would truly eat here every night.

The smothered burrito and the fish tacos were both very good. The flavors were very good. The service was very friendly and quite fast. Try their fruit lemonade!Asking for a tip before knowing anything about the quality or service was off-putting. But notice... I mentioned it last and only down-rated service by one star.

Absolutely DELISH! We travel full-time all over the country and love to try fresh Mexican food everywhere…Georgie’s is worth traveling to! Not only is the food fantastic but Georgie herself is one of the nicest people you will meet! Thank you for the wonderful experience and we HIGHLY recommend going out of your way to visit Escalante and Georgie if you aren’t already planning a visit ???

I was a little disappointed since the reviews hyped me up for this place. I thought it was a bit pricy for the amount of food. I also thought the grilled tacos and smothered burrito lacked flavor. The beans were pretty solid and the rice also lacked flavor.
