We had an outstanding coffee — the rich aroma greeted us the moment we walked in. The coffee itself was perfectly brewed and full of flavor. We also enjoyed lovely cookies and yogurt with toppings, both absolutely delicious. On top of that, the place offers beautiful views from the window, making it a perfect spot to relax and savor every bite and sip.

Happened to stop in on my way out of Utah, heading for home. From the outside, you can't see anything. You have to walk down the stairs to see what you're in for. This is by far the coolest coffee house I've ever been in. The coffee was good and the pastry was warm and fresh. The best part is the building and the view. You MUST stop if you see their sign. You will be surprised and delighted.

We stopped into Kiva Koffeehouse after doing some river soaking and it was the perfect addition to the day. Their iced chai latte with a shot of espresso was spicy and flavorful and one of the best I've ever had! I also highly recommend a slice of Tiramisu cake. Chef's kiss to that delectable creation! The view is spectacular and the staff's friendliness was so appreciated. If you're down near Boulder and Escalante, make sure to stop for a coffee and pastry. You won't regret it!

The location here is simply magical. I didn't even get anything I just was admiring the landscape while my girlfriend sipped on a coffee. Check it out if you are in the area.

Kiva Koffeehouse is such a unique and cool spot, perched on the side of a hill with parking above it. The atmosphere is incredible—a mix of hippie and Native American influences that gives it a really special vibe.

We tried a couple of iced lattes, a blackberry muffin, and a slice of coffee cake, and everything was excellent. The coffee was smooth and flavorful, and the baked goods were fresh and delicious.

This place is definitely worth a stop if you’re traveling through. Between the amazing views, unique setting, and great coffee, it’s an experience you won’t forget.

We visited here while driving scenic route 12. We saw our ETA was going to be right after their kitchen closes at 3, so we called ahead and asked them to make us food before their kitchen closes. They were very kind in accommodating this for us. Spouse got tamales and I got a veggie wrap. Over the phone, they told me the three vegan options were tamales, the wrap, and a house salad. Inside, they had pastries, but I did not see any labeled as vegan. I wonder if their menu is kind of seasonal or whether they reduced their vegan options. I got a coconut limeade, which was refreshing after our long drive as well. The location is beautiful and they also sell some pottery and other items from I assume local artists. I would visit again.

My partner and I stopped here nearly every morning before our day hikes. Everything from their coffee offerings and menu to the artesianal wares they sell are so well curated. And the views are breathtaking. Definitely worth a stop or two if you have the time.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kiva Koffeehouse – Escalante, UT

During a 16-day road trip through the Wild West, I made it a personal mission to try a new coffee spot every day. Out of all 16, Kiva Koffeehouse stood out as my absolute favorite — and honestly, it might be one of the most memorable café experiences I’ve ever had.

Perched above a scenic canyon along Utah’s Highway 12, this place is more than just a coffee stop — it’s an experience. The views are breathtaking, the architecture is stunning, and the staff is incredibly warm and welcoming. You instantly feel like you’ve discovered something special.

I stopped in before a day at Capitol Reef and Canyonlands National Parks, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The coffee was smooth and flavorful, the baked goods were fresh, and everything came with a smile. The pace is calm and peaceful — a welcome change from the rush of the road.

Note: Kiva Koffeehouse is only open from April to October, so plan ahead. Trust me — it’s worth timing your route around it.

If you’re road-tripping through southern Utah, do not miss this spot. It’s a rare mix of great coffee, friendly people, and awe-inspiring surroundings.

I was very happy with my vegetarian meal. However, my travel mate is vegan, and the website indicated the menu had vegan … but that was not true. We got our orders to go.

What a great find! I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and finally made it down to escalante for a weekend. This place was above and beyond my expectations. The view is incredible, and pictures don’t do it Justice. The coffee was also delicious, and the food was really great too. A really nice coffee shop to rest after some hiking, with some great views.
