There are a lot of taco shops out there. But this place has great authentic food, great family atmosphere! I believe it’s this way since the whole family works and runs this great business. Food is A+. I just had a torta del pastor that is delicious. Go try it out. Won’t be disappointed.

The best authentic Mexican tacos I’ve had in Utah. Flavorful & in a hole in a wall spot in this plaza. Carne Asada tacos were deliciously seasoned & fresh. Agua Fresca limon is refreshing. I also like the fact there is a little mini condiment concession to take your own authentic Mexican toppings such as the sauces, etc.

Really delicious, affordable tacos. They also have birria ramen, but the noodles were so-so. The birria meat in it was good, but the broth was a bit on the salty side. The tacos were really good and lots of different tasty options. The different salsas are good. Will definitely come back again

We enjoyed deliciously authentic pork tamales at a very reasonable price. The service was friendly and efficient.
We had the burrito and fish taco today easily some of the best we’ve ever had. The burrito was especially flavorful. We ate so fast that we forgot the photos 😆 Looking forward to coming back!

This place was a surprise, a good surprise. Expectations are lowered when you find a lowkey, strip mall, carwash adjacent taco place. Don’t expect frills, decor, ambiance, or large cups. You won’t find these here, but you will find amazing tacos. Now, I haven’t tried all tacos in Utah (yet), but these have to be in the top 5-10%.
There’s nothing wrong with the atmosphere, it’s just basic: tables, chairs, and concrete floors. To be fair… you’re not here to sleep or lounge about with a smoking jacket and pipe, you’re here for the tacos. For that purpose, the decor is just fine.
Chonchis is a bit hidden as a carwash is located directly in front of it. This limits the parking, but you just have to walk a few additional feet if you can’t score one of the storefront spots. It’s worth the walk.

The one time I successfully went here it was great, but I’ve attempted to go two other times and it has been closed (during pretty normal hours/days). They don’t update apple/google maps with when they’re closed.
