Summerhays Halibut and Chips

I have been going here since I was a teenager in the 90s. This place has the best fish n' chips I've ever had. And I've lived in Alaska and Washington. Every time I'm in Utah I stop by to enjoy the halibut n' chips. I love the special fry sauce and tartar sauce. 😋😋

I got the Jr Halibut 'N Chips. It was excellent! I liked that the gave an alternative choice of a salad instead of coleslaw. If I only had a beer! (Sung to the tune "If I only had a brain" from The Wizard of OZ.)

In short, this joint is straight gas. Excellent service, great food, immaculate atmosphere. They could charge me their monthly lease for a plate of fish and chips, and I would still tip. I’ve got the date on the calendar for the next time I roll through!!

Kid-friendliness: If my children never live to see the hallowed walls of this establishment, I will have failed as a parent.

Some of the best fish and chips in Salt Lake. Great halibut and great lobster bisque. They have multiple kinds of fish as well as piccadilly chips, and of course their soups. They make excellent fish sandwiches also and I haven't had one but I saw some cheeseburgers come out that looked really good. Highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner!

First time here and the casher was so friendly and helpful in telling us about they're popular items. We got the fish and chips and also halibut tacos. Everything was amazing! The fish was perfectly battered and did not taste greasy. The tacos were a perfect pairing of sauce, fish, and Pico. The sweet potato fries were awesome! The clam chowder was creamy and tasty.

Halibut & chips was almost $20. The few chips I got were okay but dry, and the fish was just disappointing. I got 3 pieces of fish that were very thick & dry. Lashings of malt vinegar helped. The lobster bisque was ok but my favorite part of the meal with the side of coleslaw that came with the fish & chips. Not ideal
