My sister took me here after a long day skiing (where I had twisted my leg pretty badly). I was completely beat and wasn't even sure if I had the energy to move my jaw. So I got a beer and a bowl of soup. Then I ordered fries and a shepherd's pie. Then I finished whatever sandwich she had been eating. Someday I will get to return so I can eat all the other items on the menu.
Got there about three, it wasn't crowded. The service was very friendly and attentive. Prices were fair for the quality of the food.
I’m so sad they’re closed through the pandemic. Very much looking forward to seeing them again hopefully this winter! Good food, huge beer selection, great service! What more could you ask for?
it was so fresh. the staff was very helpful and welcoming. prices were decent. reminds me of a restaurant in philadelphia that i enjoyed.
Best Irish food within an hours drive. Wish they’d open back up.
Everyone here is super nice! They are so kind every time! I always leave with a smile on my face. I was really doubtful of this place when I went the first time, but the food is delicious! I highly suggest venture outside of your comfort zone and get something you don’t think you would like.
They were indeed open for dine-in as of 6/11. It was our very first time here and the food and service were great! We had the lamb ribs for the appetizer, and the bison burger for an entree. They were both fantastic and great recommendations! I typically DO NOT enjoy lamb but the sauce was amazing. They also had a wide varieties of drinks from local breweries as well.
This was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! We had the Irish Burger with sweet potatoes fries , fish and chips and lamb mini ribs, everything was fresh and delicious. The place is nice, we sat outside, and the service was kind and fast! This is a must in Layton!
Not many Irish dishes on the menu. The corned beef on the Ruben was tough, full of fat and gristle. We've been there lots of times hoping it would be good, but it never really has been. This will seriously be the last time we go there. ✌️
My #1 place to eat in Utah!! Great food, great waitstaff, I love it! I haven't had a bad meal there yet.

My husband and I can't get enough of this place. None of the food has that "bought from Sysco" taste that you get from Chili's and Applebee's. I like these burgers waaaaay better than the ones at Lucky 13. But I knew I was in love with this place when I tried some of their fries and ranch dressing. (I don't even like ranch... like, not at all. Ever.) That ranch was tangy, fresh, and totally incredible. They're under new ownership and the place has undergone a ton of renovations, too. When I heard they were going to shut down for Covid, I talked to the manager for a few minutes. Turns out they were offering gift cards and donating the entire total of the gift card value to their servers -- with the restaurant totally taking the hit on it. I wasn't even surprised. There's just a vibe of quality that sings through their food and their attitude. I am DYING to have them open again!
The food was good here - it was hard to figure out the drinks since they are between menus. The staff was nice.
This place has turned awful! We visited because this was my sons favorite restaurant for his birthday and used to have good food in fact it was one of the places we like to frequent when in the mood for Irish pub food. It has truly and completely gone to pot! Our order was wrong and when we requested they bring a replacement for the incorrect item they charged us again (and it was french fries, we ordered all white french fries for my daughter and what we got potato and sweet potato fries) we pointed it out and re-ordered all white fries and were (charged for both orders of fries) Evverything seem to be swimming in some sort of sauce , the chicken was dry and horrible the place is just terrible. It has been the only bright spot in that line of buildings for a long time. I’m certain it will soon be closed because the food is truly awful combine with terrible service and ridiculous high prices for quality and quantity of food it cannot and should not survive. Avoid!!!!
We went to McCool's restaurant Thursday February 6th 2020 at 5:15 p.m. we were the only ones there. There were going to be eight of us we asked for a table we were told that we had to have a booth we went back to the waitresses and manager and told him it wasn't going to be big enough for us could we pull tables together they told us no they tried to put us in another Booth but didn't look big enough either. We had elderly people they were trying to put us at a bar table. So we left because they didn't try to accommodate us. So we went to Applebee's across the street. I doubt that we will ever go back.
We really enjoyed eating at this location for the first time with friends who brought us here. The food is awesome. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The staff made us feel at home. Definitely going back.
