Nielsen's Frozen Custard

Frozen custard is amazing. The location is a little weird. Strip mall style. But the food makes up for it.

The custard was DELICIOUS! However, the customer service was lacking.

Stopped in for a custard earlier today and got more than just dessert. The young man at the counter was kind, quick, and had a great smile—stood out to me after 40 years in dentistry. We even shared a quick laugh about him wearing a retainer. The place was spotless, the service fast, and the custard smooth as ever. Nielsen’s gets it right—quality product, quality people.

Food was okay at best. Not up to the standard I’m used to from other locations. Lady was rude and seemed bothered to talk to anyone. Wouldn’t let me ask questions without a response before I finished my sentence. Was treated like an idiot for having menu questions. Skip this location and have a relaxing drive to bountiful. Enjoy the experience you deserve and avoid the sadness and disappointment this location exudes.

Frozen Custard is always a win. Thise is what ice cream hopes to grow up to be someday.

Great icecream

Sat in line tonight for 45 min!!! Waiting for two vanilla custards with brownie and peanut butter on top. Had 4 different high school age kids come to the window every 10 min giving me an order that wasn’t mine. I finally asked to talk to someone who wasn’t in high school so I could get my ice cream and go and the kid said it was only high schoolers tonight. We love Nielsens custard but it was a nightmare tonight.

Best custard on planet earth. Love this place. My wife and I come here weekly and it’s always delicious.

Chelsea in Layton was the best!! I had a big group of kids and she was so sweet and patient with our orders. Thanks Chelsea.

Love their ice cream but was there on a Friday night in the dining room and took about 5 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge us. Bunch of young kids wandering around and 2-3 of them looking like they weren’t even doing anything besides joking around and glancing at us occasionally. Customer service was lacking big time. Appeared there was no manager or a manager that wasn’t doing their job.

I have been coming to Nielsen’s for over 20 years. I have always had a great experience up until the last few months at the Layton location. Extremely slow service, even when not busy, custard that is runny and not firm, as the product has always been. Not sure what is going on, but it is so disappointing. It is reaching a point that I may quit coming. They have been great to give a refund, but when you want custard and get runny ice cream like substance it is disappointing to the palate.

Stuff is so good, I mean how can you go wrong with 40% cream in a yummy dairy dessert. Snickers with vanilla custard….the bomb. Ask for Luke, dude does it right.
