My wife and I stopped for the night on our way from visiting our son and his fiancée in Durango, CO, to our home in the greater Boise area. Zao’s was just down the street from our hotel. You order at the counter and the staff put your dish together assembly line fashion, then you go find a table. We told the gentleman that greeted us that we’re new to Zao’s and he was very helpful. The layout is light and airy, with basic metal tables and chairs. The have “frescas”...
Really good food! I'm a fan of the yellow curry sauce. For the cost and the size of the bowl I think they should add more to fill the bowl up. The protein scoop was very minimal.
We had lunch at Zao Asian Cafe and absolutely loved it. Everything was super fresh, flavorful, and felt genuinely healthy. Even a family member who usually avoids veggies ended up clearing their bowl. The build-your-own options were great, and the portions were surprisingly big. Quick, satisfying, and full of flavor – we’d come back in a heartbeat.
