The food was really good! I went mid-afternoon and they were out of A LOT of menu items. It sounds like the best time to go is early lunch or waiting later for dinner, so that was my mistake going in between when they were working on getting more food dished out. However, what I did have was very enjoyable (a brisket sandwich and a jalapeño popper). The meat was very tender, juicy, and full of flavor. I'll definitely try this place again!

The food is pretty good. We tried the brisket and pulled pork plates with coleslaw, potato salad, and brisket beans. The meats were great, I would have liked a little more smoke flavor though. Their coleslaw is very minimalistic and not overly sweet or creamy which I enjoyed. Their potato salad is overwhelmingly mustard flavored with mostly what seems like mashed potato, kind of weird. The beans didn't really taste like much.The BBQ sauce we were given was a lighter red color that tasted very different, almost like a chili sauce. I saw another Sauce at the restaurant but we weren't given any in our take out to try. I assume its a more traditional sauce.The only negatives are that the portion sizes for the prices are kind of a joke. As is the large slice of store bought and untoasted white bread that takes up most of the meal. I think many people would still be quite hungry after a full plate for $10.

Really great place! Great atmosphere, nice people. The cobbler and homemade ice cream were amazing! This is Texas BBQ so the cole slaw is vinegar based and the potato salad is mustard based. A little too much mustard but otherwise great! Will be going back regularly.

Their combo plate is so good, I got a brisket and pulled pork plate with potato salad and mac. The staff is also super nice. The girl who was working came out to our table to ask how everything was and if there was anything she could get for us. We also tried their jalapeño popper which was delicious. Can’t wait to go back!

My wife and I had the brisket and ribs. We chose the 3 meat option plate and ordered 2 meat options for brisket and one for rib (you get one rib). We got the potato salad, beans, green beans and coleslaw for sides. The food was great and we will most likely return. For sides, it's my option that they weren't anything special. I liked the coleslaw and green beans, which were average. I will probably avoid the potato salad and beans when I go back. Clean tables and facilities. Nice staff.

My second experience here, the first they left out a meat and the ribs were chewy, this time I got everything but the pork had so much junk meat and fat chunks, this stuff can be picked out easily! The sides are meh, but the poppers oh man, they were barely cooked, my wife opened it and started gagging, it honestly looked like the bacon was raw, I wouldn’t have thought the bacon was ever cooked, it’s just a big blob of cream cheese with no seasoning! This place lacks in flavors, the smokes there but that’s about it, it being a bbq joint spices and rubs can easily spice anything up! The brisket was pretty bomb, good bark, the fat was cooked perfect! I’ll wait some more time before I go back!
We've been to Gonzalez BBQ twice and have been impressed both times! Reminds us of BBQ from Texas! The brisket is always our favorite and is so tender and flavorful. We also like the pulled pork, smoked turkey and sausage. This time we got the jalapeño poppers and they were so so good. Our favorite side is the green beans, they have such good flavor. This is the kind of BBQ you don't need any sauce with. Even though they are only open on Fridays and Saturdays, it is worth the stop! Go early before they run out for the day.

Will get again.The ribs were ok, but I will probably skip going forward in favor of something else.The turkey really really exceeded my expectations. Will definitely get some again.The jalapeno poppers were great and I would get them again.I tried 2 sides. The brisket beans were pretty bland. Will Skip going forward. The potato salad was alright, but more mustard forward than I prefer. Potato salad is really personal preference though so some people might really like it.I also tried a bit of sausage and it was also pretty good, but nothing amazing.All in all a good place that I will be returning to. Really glad we have a Texas style BBQ place in Cache Valley!
