They get bonus points for having plenty of delicious Gluten Free choices!
It gets super noisy on Friday and Saturday nights when the bar get hopping. Like waaaay too loud to have a conversation. Probably the reason the restaurant is almost always empty those nights.

Have been a big fan of arempas for a couple years now and have gotten takeout from the downtown location plenty of times. Was kinda turned off from my dine in experience honestly. I went for my birthday weekend at about 4 pm on Saturday, and we were given a basic menu with very generic drinks, but their instagram boasted about fancy drinks. We ended up finding a black hair in my girlfriends cachapa (my girlfriend is blonde). Service was nonexistent besides bringing our food and drinks. Saw our server talking with coworkers and on her phone. She never checked on us and we had to go to the front group of 7 employees not doing anything to finally get checked out. Will definitely return for takeout, but dine in service is terrible.
Edit: took away another star because of an experience my girlfriend had. Even takeout having issues now without even greeting guests.

I've always loved this place and was able to support them by having my office holiday dinner at the Midvale location. Cristiam and Angel took such great care of us, patiently explaining the dishes and we all LOVED the food (as did my kid, who had leftovers for breakfast!). The arepas and empanadas would make a great, quick, eat-on-the-road lunch, while I enjoyed the Carne Asada & Cheese Cachapas as a plated meal.

Okay, let me just say—I’ve never had Venezuelan food before, and I was blown away. Everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors, the freshness, the love you could taste in every bite… just wow.
The atmosphere? So welcoming. And the service? Incredible. Everyone made me feel right at home, and Angel—the owner—is top notch. You can tell he pours his heart into this place.
When I get back to Utah, you better believe I’ll be visiting again. If you haven’t tried this spot yet, you’re seriously missing out!

this is the BEST authentic venezuelan restaurant i love this restaurant with all my heart. the staff team and everyone there is just the amazing people u could ever meet and are so welcoming!! not to mention the best food ever!!!! the size of those empanadas are mind blowing if you are looking for an affordable, welcoming, and just mouth watering authentic venezuelan food this is definitely the place to go❤️❤️

I went with some friends to watch the Venezuela - Ecuador match. The service was really terrible, it took them half an hour to get to our table to start ordering our food, in fact, I had to go personally to order it since no one came to our table. They served people who arrived long after us, corduroy, a very bad experience. They didn't even offer us napkins or drinks, the food was very expensive for how long it took. I don't recommend it at all, if I could give it 0 stars I would. First and last time I go ??
