3 of us are here tonight. We had the 4 piece lettuce wraps and 3 dinner platter with pon pon, tangerine and low mein. Excellent lettuce wraps. The low mein noodles are very soft and thick, so I’d like to try the chow mein next time instead. Otherwise everything was delicious! Great decor and atmosphere!

Went out for date night only to be told my gift card wouldn't be accepted since they are under new ownership. They were polite about it but I want my money back.

I’m really sad to be writing this review because Asian Star has been a restaurant our family has been going to for the past 15 years. Honestly, it is no longer a place we will go. The food is not the same anymore since I believe they’ve changed ownership. We went today around 4:30 pm and it was dead. Just us and one other table. The waiter forgot our appetizers and when they came out they were cold. He forgot my egg drop soup and when he did bring it, it had a weird chemical taste and I couldn’t eat it. We asked for drink refills and he didn’t bring them, another woman helped us. The portions have also gotten smaller. With our family of 5, we used to always have leftover rice and we barely had enough to feed all of us. The food didn’t taste as good it used to be. Overall, this place is expensive and no longer worth the cost in terms of food or service.

The best Chinese restaurant in Salt Lake City. We've never gotten anything that wasn't delicious.Parking: There is overflow parking down a hill from the restaurant.

I have been here a few times, and those other times, they were okay. This time it wasn't very good. It felt very rushed out like they needed the table. They forgot items. A friend asked for unbreaded chicken (which they do have), and they still brought out breaded. The food wasn't very good. Then they put the bill on one tab, so we went to pay and split the bill, and they seemed like they couldn't. And we saw the total bill it was $117, but when they split the bill it came out to be $130 we compared receipts because it didn't seem right and they charged us more when we split the bill! Obviously, we aren't adding what each paid for tip. The bill before tips didn't add. Sketchy AF

We tried to make a reservation the week before and were not allowed to because we were only 3 people. The food was ok, but we hadn’t even finished our meal and were brought the check and boxes. We had been there for less than an hour and our server told us there were people waiting for a table so we needed to hurry up. Less than 5 minutes later and while we were gathering our things, another person approached us and told us they needed the table and we had to leave. I had never been asked to leave a restaurant and felt super disrespected. Never going here again.

This place has really gone downhill. The staff brought us our check and boxes before we even got halfway through our meal, and then told us they needed the table for the next group so they needed us to hurry. As we were getting ready to leave, another staff member came up to us and told us we needed to leave because they had a reservation and needed the table. I attempted to make a reservation last week and they did not allow me to. The service was completely awful in general. Never again!!

If I could give this place six stars I would! The walnut shrimp is killer! We tried multiple other dishes and everything was fantastic! Everything tasted fresh and I left eating away more than I should. This is by far the best local Chinese around in my opinion. I will be headed back for sure.

Went after easily 3 years, the quality of food is not the best, used to be a great place, service could be better, sadly nothing to remark as great or good. We ordered BBQ Pork, Lettuce Wrap, Wonton Soup, Sesame Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken

Chewy overcooked food, unruly staff, lack of empathy for guests and lack of basic etiquette..brace yourself for the worst restaurant experience in and around Salt Lake City…
