Really great waffle house

I have been in here before and enjoyed the food and service however this time, we wanted a light meal and coffee, I like coffee with my meal. Not once did I get a refill offered, I had to get up and ask for a refill, one other waitress walked around for a refill, when I was asked how my experience was I told the cashier and said well she's not getting a tip, I don't tip for bad service, I was called a jerk. Not a good way to treat customers I won't be back.

Fast service, calm atmosphere the food was good but could use a bit more flavor (gravy was kind of plain)

I've always given The Belge 5 stars, but honestly their quality fluctuates each time I visit. I've always joked about the steak since it's always overdone and not the best quality. The last 2 times I was surprised that they actually made it medium rare. The other night though, go a half inch thick steak cooked super well done. I didn't want to complain or waste any food, but I'm taking 2 stars off for the history of leathery steaks I've gotten. I'll be 86'ing the steak from my orders again, and going elsewhere when I'm craving steak n eggs.

Literally turned away because they were too busy but there was mostly open tables.

This place is great after late night concerts and have a hankering for a diner dive breakfast. The waffles are bomb and make sure you get the hash browns (fried).

Whatever was working 11/10/24 had the worst customer service. She repeatedly would slam plates down. Only stopped by to take our order and dropped off food or drinks rudely. I wanted to go refill my own drink and grab my own ranch but it was just better to leave. She’s lucky I didn’t just walk out and not pay because of how disrespectful she was. Service here is in the trash now. Not worth it after many years attending this place.

What can be said that hasn't been said before? My first time was late '80-early '90's. It literally hasn't changed much. I remember getting something to eat early November, 2002 at about 9:00PM. Big storm outside, rain and sleet coming down sideways. I don't remember what I ordered but everything was the same as it was yesterday (10/26/24). The tables feel like they've been wiped down with a cloth that should have been changed/replaced dozens of tables ago. The water was tasty but the plastic cups go through an industrial dishwasher and if the previous user was wearing lipstick or lipgloss, there's going to be a residue. Food came out fresh and hot but it was a 40-minute wait between seating and food delivery. It was busy but not over the top busy. I had the croissant sandwich which was great but for the croissant which wasn't light, flaky, buttery and much more stale than fresh. I always had my coffee topped off. Seemed like they had plenty of staff. Prices were reasonable. Hash browns are boiled potatoes slightly grilled. They tasted fine.

I like that they don't try to be something that they're not. They're more Midvale Mining Cafe than Landmark Grill. They're not an Over the Counter or a Roots. Black Bear has half the soul and character as Belgian. I'd choose this place over a Denny's or Original Pancake.

But there are reasons I haven't been since forever and I don't know how long it'll be before I go back. Judging from the reviews and crowds, I don't think that matters much to anyone but me.

The absolute worst food we've all eaten. Took 2 bites and left. Lucky if we don't get food poisoning

The food was really not the best. The staff was very friendly but that was the only plus here.
