The food was awesome except the steak I ordered medium rare was more on the medium side. Also, they didn't have any bread.
The biggest problem was service from the time I arrived until I left. When I arrived there was no one waiting to be seated and I waited over five minutes for someone to show up at the host podium. There were 2 workers at the bar just chatting and one server standing at the kitchen door texting on his phone.
I was finally seated and it took several minutes before a server came to take my drink order. The waitress took my order and brought me a cup of coffee. That was the last time she came by. She didn't even come by to see if my meal was okay or to refill my coffee cup.
The with hen crew delivered my salad and meal in a timely manner. Good job.
When I was ready to leave I had to stand by my table for at least 5 minutes before my server brought me my check.
I will be going back because I love the food but I'm very disappointed with the service I didn't receive.

Both of our steaks were cooked incorrectly. We ordered medium rare, but one came well done and the other rare. The staff admitted the mistake and apologized, which we appreciated, and brought out two new ones. Unfortunately, those were also not cooked correctly. At that point, we decided not to go through another round. On top of that, the filet tasted and felt more like a ribeye — not what I expected.

We were there for dinner. Coincidentally I had just read an article about steaks in American chain restaurants that didn't exactly place LongHorn in the very top.
But how wrong can you go with a filet mignon and a bone in ribeye? Ordered the filet medium rare, came out very rare. OK, shit happens, but the ribeye came out well done. Wrong on both steaks? New ones came out, I think the kitchen had been afraid of over cooking the rib eye so at this point it was more rare than medium rare. Oh well...
The quality of the filet wasn't great, it looked like a bigger filet that had been cut in the middle. A couple of very chewy spots, like the silverskin membrane covering the filet. According to the person eating it, it tasted more like part of a ribeye than a filet.
The ribeye was maybe someone better, but most of the fat hadn't really been cooked/rendered since it was almost rare, so cut that away. Was left with a pile of cutaway that I would normally be able to eat at other restaurants.
I understand this is another chain steakhouse, most likely to be considered a budget steak, but I would honestly rather skip 2 or 3 visits and put that money forward to a proper steakhouse experience.
This was rather disappointing to say the least.

Longhorn has always provided great food and service. However, this time our servers at the Midvale location were not. The hostesses were very accommodating (only reason for the 2 stars on service) and the food was great. Once we were seated, it took a while to even see our servers. We had two. One of them we saw once when he took our order, and we never saw or heard from him again. The other took our drink order, brought those out, and then brought us our check. We had to wave her down twice to get a couple refills and other items we hadn't received. She seemed bothered to help our party of 10. Our food was brought out by other servers (my grandkids' food came out last). When we mentioned a couple things that we didn't receive, they said they'd let our servers know... My daughter finally got up to get a pitcher to refill our waters because our servers were no where in sight for a while. Very disappointing after spending almost $300.
