Was visiting from the coast, where I have experienced some superb ramen, and a friend brought me here. I usually visit these kind of restaurants with a little trepidation when not in the middle of a community of the same ethnic background as the food, but my friend was excited so I was willing to trust him. I'm so glad I did. JINYA had a great energetic atmosphere and our server was attentive. I arrived a bit early and the server kept asking if I wanted to get started (as if it looked like I got stood up for a date, lol. I was meeting an old college buddy so...) but I appreciated that I didn't feel forgotten. When my buddy arrived he was quick to get us started. Now to the food!I'm a good friend, so I didn't interrupt our visit to get pics, but I'm a little sorry I didn't. It looked great, I appreciated the presentation and array of colours. I got the JINYA Tonkatsu black and the Crispy Chicken (chicken karage for those who know). I was certainly expecting our chicken to barely serve the two of us, but the pieces they served us were HUGE. Each piece was about 3x the size of the pieces I was used to from the coast. Purests would probably say they were too big and couldn't be eaten as single bite pieces, but I call it a blessing of being in a land-locked, lower-cost- of- living state. The ramen was on par with what I've had before,so I call that excellent because it certainly surpassed my expectations. I had everything as the chef intended except I swapped thin noodles for thick. I love a good chew! The overall experience was great! And helped by attending with good company. I'd highly recommend for a date, meetup, or group outing. There was space for larger groups (looked like up to 10), or small corners for solo outings or intimate meetups. Well planned and laid out space, but smallish, so you might have to wait if you come with a big group and no reservation.Dietary restrictions: They can customize any dish. Might be hard to get it without garlic or onion, but it never hurts to ask.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair entrance and roll up tables.

Absolutely delicious! Whatever you order get a seasoned egg! Kid's meals offer a lot of food, my picky eater was very happy. Lovely atmosphere, but a tad too loud.

This place is tiny. The tables are close together. Food is good but for the price, increase the portions.

The tables are a little close to one another for my liking. The food and service was top notch despite the closeness to our neighbors

We visited with a group of nine, and the service was great. The waiters were super friendly and quick to bring our food. They made sure to check on us often. The portions were generous, though the prices were on the higher side. The food was really tasty, and the whole vibe made us feel like we were in a cute anime restaurant

Super friendly staff. Best ramen in town, worth the price. Highly recommend the jinya buns as a side item.

Fantastic ramen and excellent service. Dining room is a little small and as such, crowded and noisy at times.I don't see this as necessarily a negative thing, just be aware.

Reasonably good ramen at a high but not absurd price. It definitely feels like a chain. Honestly I would've rathered ordering at the counter and nix the table service as it just added unnecessary expense.

This is a continuing thread from the SLC location. from that experience we decided to call Murray and ask if our son could have a happy meal. the host quickly replied that would be fine. I called the SLC location back to advise that Murray seems like a much for allergy friendly location. Upon entering we were noticed as those whom called earlier and were given a lecture about how the host was wrong and that they do not allow outside food. We could tell the SLC location called. We promptly left. How do we find it acceptable in a day and age with small children to tolerate restaurants who will not be accommodating to their medical needs and are very abhorrent to the parents attempt at alternatives to continue to enjoy their experience together but would much rather bark draconian policy. shame on Jinya.Dietary restrictions: They don’t care what allergies you may have…Kid-friendliness: Apparently aren’t fans of kids with allergies because no outside food policy reigns supreme at Jinya so your kid sits hungry or you dine elsewhere.

Updated review:We love the food here. They've expanded their menu and now have several vegan options, which is fantastic since my daughter is vegan and it's not easy finding restaurants we all like.I tried her vegan ramen with impossible meat last time we ate here, and it was amazing, with a true savory flavor. My son loves the spicy chicken ramen with a seasoned egg. I love the mini tuna tacos. The place is still cramped and very loud. They turn the music up, I think so you can't hear others' conversations, but it just means you can't hear your own conversation either. I'm not a fan of running elbows with strangers, but it's a small space so there's not much they can do.Original review:I'd have given this place 5 stars a year ago, because their ramen is fantastic, and they have a varied menu. But they're still closed for indoor dining! Their space is small, and the tables are crowded together, so it's probably not financially profitable to offer dine-in with social distancing. And yet every other restaurant has opened back up. We have safety protocols in place; people are getting vaccinated. There is no reason this place needs to remain closed. It's bad customer service. We got takeout ramen from them once during the pandemic, and the broth was cold by the time we got home. It also took forever to pick up because they're not well organized. If they don't open soon, I'm giving up on the place.
