Nielsen's Frozen Custard North Ogden

This is a great place to eat, we drive over an hour to eat here, it has amazing food!

We ate at Nielsen's at 4pm on a Saturday. It was not super busy. You can order at the drive thru, at the walk up window, or inside. We ordered and ate inside. The young lady took our order accurately and recited it back to make sure it was correct. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger, a pastrami burger, onion rings, and a concrete. She gave us good advice on which concrete (Custard) toppings to add.

It took about 5 to 10 minutes to get our food, and our food was very fresh. Since we weren't ready for the concrete, we asked to have them keep it cold in the freezer for us so it didn't melt while we ate the food. The pastrami burger was excellent. The bun was very soft and fresh, the pickles had a nice crunch to them, and the pastrami and burger tasted great with the lettuce and sauce. I tried my wife's bacon cheeseburger, and it was tasty also. The onion rings (there were some rings and some slices) and the fry sauce for also excellent. We ordered an Oreo cookie dough concrete, and the custard was creamy, and the cookie dough was very good. We scarfed the whole thing, and splitting it was plenty of custard after a meal. It cost us about $27 for everything, which is a little bit steep, but not too out of control for the current inflation.

My wife appreciated the diner atmosphere, and the oldies music. I thought the music was a touch loud, but not too overbearing. They had tv screens that showed other Nielsen's locations and some cool historical facts about the franchise. The menu above the registers were a little bit small in terms of size and font, I think this is something they could definitely improve on.

Overall we were both very happy with the food and the concrete, and we will be back!

i came here for the first time to try it out and the bacon on my cheeseburger was very hard and it almost broke my tooth. the french fries were very hard as well. the lady that took my order was very friendly to me for coming to this place for the first time. there was no public bathrooms if you need one as a customer and im not sure if im going to come back to this place ever again. overall the food was not the best for me. i am not sure if i ever want to come back to this location again.

Great and friendly service. Food was delicious. Best burgers, best Oreo shakes. This is what Kirts drive in used to be and that is coming from a life long 48 yr resident of North Ogden. Please keep up the good work and food quality.

There's almost nothing that a hot fudge sundae from Nielsen's Frozen Custard can't fix. It's my favorite treat yo'self treat. Do not skip the perfectly roasted and salted almonds on top! Divine!

Thoroughly enjoyed the food & the vibe! Old school 50's atmosphere and GREAT staff! Everybody was so genuinely friendly!! Enjoyed the burger, fries & onion rings. Very nostalgic food too. Frozen Custard? YES please!

Let me start by saying: the burger slapped so hard I almost called corporate to thank them personally. Juicy, cheesy, perfectly seasoned — it was love at first bite. Then came the concrete milkshake. Thick, creamy, angelic. I thought I had seen God.

…Until three hours later.

That “heavenly” shake turned my stomach into a lactose demolition site. My insides were hosting World War Dairy. I was sweating, praying, and Googling “can you become lactose intolerant instantly.”

I walked in a carefree cheese enthusiast. I walked out a survivor.

Still giving 4 stars though, because that shake did taste like happiness… before the chaos hit.
8/10 would recommend but be prepared to walk out of the bathroom 3 hours later and scared of dairy.

Delicious food and a fun atmosphere but I wish they’d put lids on the custard for take out. By the time you take it home it’s melted all over the car.
