A great Philly in a totally unexpected place. I go to wellsville a couple times a year and have seen Chef D's but never had time to stop and try it. Tonight I was craving a Philly cheesesteak and decided to drive out and try them. The sandwich was great, perfect bread to filling ratio, the season fries were great and the two different dipping sauces were good, I especially liked the jalapeño ranch. Portions were big, service was fast and friendly. I'll definitely be coming back. If you go, know that they close at 7:30. Their website says 9pm but the sign on the door says 7:30.

Best Philly I've had in a very long time! Well worth the short detour on my way to Logan.

Delicious!
Clean and we'll lit.
Plenty of seats available.
Free parking on the street.
Easy to locate.
Menu is small and intimate because they know how to cook the stuff that they cook.
Friendly staff.

Would recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was the best Philly cheese steak of my life. There was no wait when we got there and the customer service was fantastic. If I didn't live so far away I would be going there every day for lunch. It was truly fantastic. It's about $13 per sandwich and then an additional charge for sides, so a little on the pricey side but for a small business it's understandable.

Chef D’s offers authentic and delicious Philly cheesesteak sandwiches. I recommend the original sandwich, and generous use of whatever the sauce is that comes on the side. A great little local joint with a cozy space and tasty food.

Surprised this place is still open given their current quality, level of service and price. They clearly aren’t concerned about customer acquisition or retention.

It’s one of those places where the negative reviews actually are relevant yet I stupidly still gave this place the benefit of the doubt. They’re absolutely overcharging by a LARGE margin. Expect a whopping ~$36 bill for two cheesesteaks and a handful of fries complete with an unadvertised card fee.

Reviews about the cheesesteak being like ground beef (low quality at that) are spot on. I also don’t see how you can call yourself a chef-run cheesesteak place but make rookie mistakes like burning your buns and barely grilling the veggies.

They also can’t be bothered with something as simple as updating their hours online. For those that care, closing time is apparently 7:30pm but it doesn’t matter to me because I won’t be going back.

Came in at around midday. Pretty empty, only one person tending the store. I didn’t have to wait to order, but after I had finished my fry sauce, the lady was nowhere to be found. Food was good, but probably a little pricier than it’s worth.

Chef Das has always been best Philly across Wasatch Front and I know two individuals who put it above Philidelphia. New location has better ambiance and the quiet surrounding area is nice. They take great care to keep sandwich makings separate from bread if order is to go. Will always stop here when in the area!

The food was fantastic and all made fresh. We tried 3 different sandwiches and loved them all, fries and onion rings were great, too. Perfect cook on the onion rings.

It was closed at 7pm when it clearly says it’s open til 8pm. Don’t make the drive if it’s even close to closing time
