We have been coming to Javier’s for many years. The quality is always the same. We visited the one on seventh street and the food was not up to Javier’s standards. The taco was limp and wavy, I sent it back. The new one was not much better. We usually go to the one on Wall at the diagonal. We will not be frequenting the one o seventh street again, the food was inferior. The chili verde burrito was not the same either. My husband has been ordering the same thing for 20 years.
Went there 2 days ago and the meal was terrible total amount was 28$ after paying I noticed on my card it said 38$ pending. Lmao. I didn’t tip because it was gross and the service was lazy. That is theft. Went back and spoke to a manager found out the waitress is WRITING HER OWN TIPS AFTER PEOPLE LEAVE.
Really good food, horribly small portion size for the cost. I got one fork full of refried beans in my order. $14.98 with flour tortillas?
My first experience was so incredible I had to come back for dinner and lunch. Truly authentic, savory and flat out delicious.
Always delicious! Always super friendly staff and fast service. I have relatives from out of state that request Javier's when they're here!
Worst Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life. My fish taco was a fried tortilla with fish sticks, my wife’s verde burrito was canned chicken, the sauce tasted like gravy, the salsa tasted sour like vinegar, and the margaritas….. 🥱. I don’t know what the hell that was? Drive up to Maria’s for authentic Mexican food with Mole’ and Micheladas. Never heard of a Mexican restaurant not understanding what a Michelada is 🤣
Best Mexican chain in Northern Utah.
Our family has liked their food but last night was a horrific experience. Ordered online. Stated 15mibs for pickup. Got there (S Ogden on Harrison). Friendly you g man checked with the kitchen and it’d be another 10mins. Ok. Waited. Waited and waited. A large party of people dressed for a Christmas gathering started coming in. I kept waiting for takeout for 3. It was obvious the focus was on this large party and not on our list order from well before this party started coming in. Given a slight apology and excuses. 55mins after we ordered (15min order) got our food. No offer of a discount or anything after this fiasco.

This place used to be GREAT. 20 years ago it was the best-kept secret in town. I visited a couple years ago and had a very poor experience. I was hoping it was just a bad day. Today I went again and sadly, same poor experience. I was severely disappointed. Small portions, but that turned out to be a good thing because the food was borderline inedible. Cheap ingredients, bad flavor. I opened up my cheese enchilada and found cheap store-bought shredded white and yellow cheese that was hardly melted at all. Sad to see a once-great place that has gone so far downhill. The only reason I'm giving two stars rather than one is because the staff was friendly, and for old time's sake.
Not the best....
