My wife and I chose the LongHorn Steakhouse on Wall Avenue in Ogden, Utah to celebrate our second anniversary, and we were genuinely excited to try a place I hadn’t been to before. When we arrived, the hostess was wonderful—friendly, welcoming, and seated us right away, which was a great start.
Unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill. We were seated directly next to a guest who was coughing uncontrollably throughout our entire meal, positioned right behind my wife. While I understand this isn’t something the restaurant can control, our server clearly noticed how uncomfortable we were and could have easily moved us since there were at least three open tables in our section. No offer was made.
When it came time to order drinks, the server initially told us they didn’t carry what we asked for, then listed what the bar did have. Moments later, she changed her answer and said she would check. After going to the bar, she returned to tell us they actually did have what we wanted—Kahlua and Bailey’s—which was confusing and didn’t inspire much confidence.
When our drinks arrived, my wife’s Colorado Bulldog tasted sour. Both of us tried it, and it was very clear something was off. We were later told the cream was expired. To make matters worse, the server returned with the same exact drink to “make up for it,” which only added to our discomfort—why would anyone want to drink the same drink again after being told it was made with expired ingredients?
When our salads came out, we had both ordered ranch dressing, but mine came out with blue cheese.
At that point, between the coughing guest behind us and the string of issues, we just wanted to finish our meals and leave as quickly as possible. When the check arrived, the server offered a “free scoop of ice cream” to make up for the expired cream in the drink—which felt like an odd choice, considering the issue was spoiled dairy in the first place.
The final straw came when the server returned the check for signature, and it was drenched in juice and blood from a steak. It was messy, unprofessional, and honestly shocking.
This was hands-down the worst service experience we’ve had, and it was only 4:30 in the afternoon. I can’t imagine how things would be if the restaurant were busy. Sadly, what should have been a special anniversary dinner turned into an experience we were eager to forget.

Always the best steaks ive ever had and way cheaper than fancy steakhouses. Dont sleep on the broccoli side
The butter they sent out with the bread might as well have been frozen.

Our server was more concerned with tables that had more than 2 people and it felt very rude. We felt like we were an after thought rather than important at all. Will be a long time before we return!

I rated 2 stars as the experience was significantly below par. The food was just OK, in fact the service, atmosphere, everything was just OK. I don’t have a desire to return.

Steak was good and cooked as requested. Liked how the fried onions appetizer was separated (no tug of war with the onion). The fried pita chips and spinach appetizer was the best!

Poor Service and Rigid Policy at Texas Longhorn – Downtown Ogden
Walked in with a party of five on a very slow weeknight (restaurant barely 20% full) and was informed we could not be seated until every single person had arrived — no exceptions, no flexibility. The host offered zero accommodation despite empty tables everywhere and the fact that our fifth guest was only minutes away.
It’s baffling that a casual steakhouse insists on enforcing strict fine-dining seating rules while providing anything but fine-dining hospitality. Downtown Ogden has far too many welcoming restaurants to waste time on one that actively discourages business.
Will not return, and I suggest others avoid this location unless you enjoy unnecessary obstacles and indifferent service.
Up there with the worst service and food I’ve ever had in a longhorn. From the time I sat down to the time I got my steak. It was 45 minutes.

Ordered takeout, if I was eating in the restaurant I would've sent 2 of the 3 meals back. The salt was so bad I couldn't even finish my dinner. Tone down the salt it was absolutely ridiculous. This was a $70 dollar order. It was the chicken tenders and the pork chops.

Went on my birthday. They gave me a hard time over my FL id that was still valid. Saying they don’t get out of state IDs….near a military base. Instead of apologizing after knowing it was valid, we got overdone steaks and no apologies. They did give us a new steak, but it still wasn’t close to medium rare. 🥴 I can see why the steak house next door always has a line compared to them.
