Haven't been here in many years. New chef owner in the last 2 years. Dining area greatly expanded.
Showed up for a 6 pm reservation on Sunday and were seated immediately. Restaurant filled by 6:30. Noise level and decor were pleasant in large back room. There is a large bar area for single diners. Waiter nice and checked on us regularly. Water and very good rolls showed up quickly. However one member of our party of 3 had to wait an extra 10 minutes for his entree to arrive. No explanation or warning.
Chicken parmesan, spaghetti with large meatball, dinner rolls, and peanut butter gelato with chocolate chips were excellent. However order of lamb belonaise had very undercooked pasta and the sauce flavor was overwhelmed by herbs. After sending it back it was quickly replaced with the chicken parm we ordered as replacement. Veal Piccata was very thin, overcooked, and a little tough. Spaghetti was a' dente but not undercooked.
Menu is all ala carte. Prices are fair for a ski resort. Plan on spending about $40 or more for 2 courses exclusive of dessert, drinks, taxes. We would give them a second chance because of the dishes we liked but would stay away from the veal dishes and the belonaise sauce.

I ordered Lasagna which was burnt and dry. The server agreed and I ordered chicken Piscataway as the Lasagna took 20 minutes to cook. The piccta came out completely covered with saucy pasta.

We live in PC! The food is super delicious, props to the kitchen.
Unfortunately, 3 times we've gone, the service was a mess and actually rude at times.
First time we went, the awkward front of house staff didn't seat us although we arrived at least an hour before the closing times marked on the door. It wasn't very busy so I guess they were trying to leave early but kind of strange to close the kitchen at 8pm.
We decided to give it another shot, and the second time was decent although very slow service but the food was excellent so we were happy.
The third time was more of a disaster. The guy was acting very very rushed and then quite standoffish and super intense for no reason. My mom had ordered one beer because he was late to our table and we didn't have water or anything. Then after he finally got to our table, he for some reason thought we were doing something wrong by her ordering a beer? She's 55 years old, I never ordered a beer but he was mad that I took a sip of hers so I had shown him my ID and he still was acting very off. It was just super unnecessary. We were pretty confused by it all and why he was acting rude, we still don't really know. It really lowered the mood of the dinner and got my mom upset when we were just trying to enjoy the night off and have some nice food.
Kitchen - 5/5 We love the menu!
Wait Staff - they definitely gotta find all new people, it's not working and may be the consistently worst service in PC! The kitchen deserves to have better wait staff 1/5
Environment is no problem - not great, not bad.
Basically, you may wanna just order take out, that's what we'll be doing from now on!

Service was terrible, forgotten drinks, nasty attitude and even a request for an apology from the servers, when asked for the manager server told me that was not possible, overall bad bad bad experience.

The experience and quality of the food was not worth the cost. A bad star and the environment ruined our experience.
When we arrived on time for our 6:45 diner reservations, we were informed that our table was not available and asked we wait at the bar. We waited over 40 minutes for a table to become available. During this time we saw two other parties (same size as ours) be sat and served. In addition there were other tables that were open.
Our waitress was pleasant, but couldn't effectively communicate. The room was noisy and it was difficult to have a conversation with the person across from me at the table. The decor appeared as if it was done by the staff. Uninspired paint, poorly maintained fixtures, and low quality seating.
The food was a bit hit and miss. We had the muscles which were excellent. My gnocchi was under cooked and gooey. My wife's dish was overly rich and difficult to have more than a few bites.
When our bill arrived we were disappointed to see that there was no attempt to compensate us for our time. The underqualified hostess gave us halfhearted acknowledgement that we had to wait, but there was no acknowledgement from our waitress or any manager regarding the inconvenience the caused. The final insult came with an additional credit card service fee charge on top of already over priced food and drinks.
We left an appropriate gratuity and will not be returning.

This review is based on comparing it to a similar level Italian restaurant. If comparing it to Olive Garden, it is better. Honestly, I'd rather stay home with a jar of Rao's and make it dinner myself...which is normally what I do. Would recommend La Stellina over it and it is certainly our best Italian food. Outside of that, save your Italian meals for another city.

Used to love this place, they have a great octopus appetizer and amazing gelato and coffee, but PLEASE beware of their entrees: a few of us ordered the Chicken Parm and got violent food poisoning the next day (still feeling the effects 2 days later). Even my parents who only had a couple bites got sick as well. The short rib special is okay, but not sure that I could ever feel comfortable coming back (except maybe just for gelato) after the experience we just had.
We had reservations. We waited 15 min to be seated. We waited over 1 hour for our food. To be clear we sat for over 1 hour with no food except a roll. We were served only after we said we were leaving and to just charge us for our wine and beer. Hop came to our table and it was clearly because he felt it was an obligation not because he was sincerely interested in the lack of service.
We have tried to become regulars since moving here. We always bring our out of town guests to Cortona. We will not go back. We were placated. We were not served like loyal customers.
Service was great once we got seated. Service at the “front of the house” was a bit awkward. Food was pretty good! Some pretty authentic dishes to choose from! Would definitely recommend the Potato Gnocchi with Shrimp!

Our food was good but our waitress was never around. We ordered a bottle of white wine and when I mentioned it was lukewarm she said yes it is most of our white wine is. That is not acceptable. A person at the table wanted a glass of red and instead of telling us what they were out of up front she waited until we tried to order it. The same thing with dessert they we were out of chocolate cake! The best part was at the end when she knocked the Parmesan cheese all over the table and one of my friends. They need a lesson in customer service and wine temperature.
