We ate in the saloon. The food was highly overrated. Our burger was rare (ordered medium), shrimp tacos were lukewarm, beer in bottles only (nothing on-tap), and the trout dip was served with potato chips. The bill payment machine was pre-programmed with tip options of 25%, 22% and 20%. We would not return.

Kat at the front was really awesome this morning. We asked some very specific questions about the specialty whisky and she not only had great recommendations but was also well versed in the variety and explained them well.

I rarely leave reviews, but I had such a great experience at High West today that I had to share. From the moment I walked in, the ladies at the front set the tone, they were so polite and genuinely welcoming. That first impression really stood out. The food itself was good, but what truly made the visit memorable was the overall service and knowledge of the staff. Start to finish, it felt like they really cared about creating a great experience.

Don’t eat here, just drink whisky. Ordered a burger ($23) and a local beer ($12, the Mexican beer would have been $7). It took forever and likely sat on a shelf because it was cold. Ordered it medium-rare, don’t, needs to be fully cooked maybe it will bring out the nonexistent flavor. No salt or pepper shakers. I struggled eating this but was starving. Sat outside the vibe was ok but was here for food.

I am not one to usually leave bad reviews but I felt I needed to in this case. I want to preface this by saying that the atmosphere was great, the hostess and the gift store workers were nothing but kind and welcoming. We only had drinks and those were great as well. The issue lies with our server Michael. It felt as if just our presence was a nuisance to him. We did come in a bit late (and that’s why we only had drinks), however I don’t feel that’s enough reason to act in such a way. After we received our drinks, he kept circling around and looking at us as if to rush us out as quickly as possible. After we gave him our signed check, he looked at it, scoffed and left without saying anything. I understand that people coming in late can be frustrating, especially as I have worked in this industry for over 15 years, however that does not excuse this unprofessional behavior. We were really disappointed as the rest of our experience with everyone else was so wonderful.

Very disappointed with our experience coming here. We came in with a large party of 10 and our server Michael, severely disappointed us. He would only get drinks for half of the table and when the other half tried to order he forgot to ring them in entirely. He rang in the wrong food and when we tried to tell him this wasn’t the right order, he doubled down and insisted this was the correct meal despite not a singular ingredient matching up.. Drinks took 40+ minutes to come and he did not check in a single time to see if were okay, we had to look for him ourselves for anything we needed. very unimpressed.

We have been to the saloon several times over the years, but this last visit was very disappointing: mainly due to our waiter. We ordered an appetizer (the shishito peppers) a salad to share and entrees. For some reason even though we were not finished with appetizer, all of the other courses arrived at once. The small table was packed and we ended up not eating the salad. Our waiter did not apologize or offer to take some of the food back for later. He was not very personable overall. He did not engage in any conversation: Just one word responses. The quality of the food was fine, but the timing with the kitchen was pretty bad. I think High West can do better.

Schnitzel was very tasty, deviled this were yummy, trout dip was a bit sparse for the amount of chips served but was tasty. The kale salad was a nice size but too much kale for the other ingredients.

Entree fish was fantastic. The breaded shishitos were a bit bready and had absorbed a bit of oil, so I wouldn’t recommend them.

I had such a great experience here. Came here for dinner after doing the distillery tour up in Wanship. Got a burger and a whiskey sour and literally couldn’t be happier. Great vibe, our server Dan was phenomenal and such a sweetheart. Whatever you do, you HAVE to try the bourbon pecan pie!!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Only went in to pick up a bottle of their new bottled in bond bourbon (which is fantastic btw). Was given several other options to think about next time I want to try something new. Great experience!
amazing beverages and great pretzel

You'd come here regardless even if you didn't read the reviews because the vibes are excellent. But the food is actually very solid. Great meatballs and trout dip.
Drink menu was a little bit of a let down, but otherwise the appetizers were really really good
