This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. We were seated on the lovely outdoor patio and served our first cocktail and a canapé, before being escorted into the cottage for dinner. Our Whiskey Ambassador did a great job of explaining the tasting options and we selected the enhanced whiskey pairing — and we are SO glad we did!
Each course was curated with creativity and passion — both beautiful and delicious. While there were ingredients I’ve either not had much of or don’t usually like, they were elevated and delicious here! And the whiskey pairing truly enhanced the entire experience.
We loved our evening and strongly recommend it!

A wonderful experience! The prix fixe menu is well-planned and we appreciated the enthusiasm and detailed explanations of each whiskey pairing. A cocktail and wine list are also available. Intimate setting, lovely outdoor patio, excellent service.

I probably set my expectations too high and that is on me. The end of the night comment from my wife rings true of how I feel a day later, “That was a pretty joyless experience.”
I’ll be fair and limit this to things within their control. Doughy bread, inedible tapioca thing, dry halibut, chewy meat course.
Service was notably inconsistent table to table. It’s nit picky I know, our table seemly got the cliff notes version of what came out while other tables got deeper explanations of the dish and suggestions on how to eat it. I appreciated they asked how the food and experience was and had a reaction to my honest response around the 5th course.
Despite food flaws, flavor for the pairing was well done.
Sound in the dining room only builds on itself. I don’t even what to say other than it was an unpleasant volume that it eventually got to and I just wanted to leave.
In the end a sad birthday dinner. 2.5/5

Amazing experience. Fabulous food. Each of 6 courses was well thought out. We are not whiskey fans but went with the whiskey pairings and a fun experience with briefings on each item served. This was all about the experience, and they hit a home run.
Everyone eats the same menu, but I certainly would not call it family style as some have commented. Our courses included appetizer, shrimp, Chilean grouper, mushroom dish, steak, dessert... plus the whiskey pairings.
Chef came out at the end to receive her accolades. Menu changes every 2 weeks.
Very casual dining typical of Parkcity, limited seating, no table clothes, or fine utensils. Reservations are highly recommended.
Expect $200+ per person if you go with all the options.
An exceptional dining and whiskey tasting experience. I loved everything about this place. The meal starts with a complimentary cocktail and amuse bouche. Next, a welcome from the whiskey ambassador. Then dive right in to your first of 6 houses with optional whiskey pairing. Each course was creative and delicious. We are not big whiskey fans but we did the whiskey pairing and it was a lot of fun. The menu is prix fixe. I recommend this for any adventurous eaters who are visiting Park City.
I think Bidenomics hit this place hard. Looking at previous pictures, I feel like I got robbed. Overpaid, underwhelmed, will not go again. Skip this and instead do the distillery tour and eat at the restaurant there. You’ll spend less money and leave way more satisfied.
Such a cool experience with a whiskey tasting! I’m not a huge whiskey fan, so I opted for wine, but the food was phenomenal. A must when in Park City!

An absolutely fantastic tasting menu experience! Hands down the best food we’ve had in Park City. The evening started off perfectly with a warm welcome and whiskey drinks by the fire pits, which set the mood for a memorable night. The team was incredible, including the manager who walked us through the meal, shared the history of the cottage, and introduced the Whiskey pairing experience. They also made thoughtful and patient modifications for my dietary restrictions, never making me feel awkward about it. We liked the whiskey cocktail so much that they even wrote down the recipe for us! We also enjoyed socializing with other guests before dinner, which made the night even more special. Overall, it was a flawless, unforgettable experience—highly recommended! We will definitely be booking again next time we’re in Park City.
Dietary restrictions: They were so kind and patient in modifying the menu and checking with me.
Kid-friendliness: Adults only environment.

An Unforgettable Anniversary Experience at Nelson Cottage! We recently celebrated our 10-year anniversary at Nelson Cottage in Park City, and it exceeded every expectation. The seasonal menu was nothing short of spectacular, with each dish perfectly crafted to highlight the finest ingredients of the season. The whiskey education was such a delight, adding depth to the evening as we learned about and savored some truly remarkable selections. Even archive selections!
The wait staff was top-tier—attentive without being intrusive, and their knowledge about both the menu and whiskey pairings enhanced our dining experience. The atmosphere was simply incredible, offering a cozy yet refined setting that was perfect for such a special occasion.
Nelson Cottage is more than just a restaurant—it's an experience. We highly recommend it for anyone looking for a memorable dining adventure in Park City. Can't wait to find an excuse to return!

Finally took a visit to The Nelson Cottage and was so impressed. While we waited on the porch we were served welcome cocktails and canapés. Then we were escorted by party inside to our tables. Inside you are sat in a rustic cottage, as the name describes. And it is warm and comfortable. You feel like you are dining with friends. Our “Whiskey Ambassador” was fantastic. She was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about every single thing that came out of the kitchen or was poured into our glasses. She, as well as the rest of the service staff were on point.
We chose to add the whiskey pairing to our meal and we were thrilled we didn’t skip it. The meal would not have been the same without it.
They change the menu seasonally. And I can’t wait to get back in and see what they come up with next!

What an experience! Food was incredible.
Laura was an amazing wealth of whiskey knowledge and fun. Along with the whiskey pairing we tried some of Milanas handcrafted cocktails and they were some of the best I’ve ever had.
Cheers!
Thanks for making my birthday so awesome!!!
