Always amazing. Best sushi in Utah! Service was excellent and we look forward to this family tradition each time we visit Deer Valley.

We have been coming back to Yama sushi for years because the food is so fresh, inventive and the service is just always so amazing! Whenever we come Chef Yamamoto always remembers us and gives us a taste for something special! Caitlyn and Randi is the definition of “service with a smile.” I highly recommend this place!!

Nick and Valentina provided exceptional service! They were extremely professional and highly knowledgeable.

the waiter tried to sell us the most expensive dishes, the food was average and quite expensive

Table was ready when I arrived. Prompt service and delicious ahi starter and a roll that was to die for!

Impecable service, fresh amazing food. I would repeat the flagstaff roll a thousand times, best roll ever! I even liked the margarita and I’m not a cocktail person.

Very good service, nice ambiance, just okay sushi which was a bit disappointing at this price point. Very expensive even for the Mantage.

Memorable experience. Outstanding food. Top notch service. I'll be back!! Ps. Don't miss the nigiri, best cut of maguro I've ever had, it was truly the best. Melt in your mouth, wow!

Our server, Nick, and the sommelier, Paul, made our great experience even better. They shared their knowledge of the food and wine to help us make the best choices. We had the seafood on a rock, fried rice and mochi for dessert. It was an A+++ experience.

Terrible service experience attempting to eat here so we left and chose another dinner option. We waited for 10 min at the front as there was no receptionist while the manager and waiters glanced our way but didn’t come over. Finally the receptionist walks up with no apology and says they are full. Only 3 tables were seated. I was confused and inquired and they said they had reservations. We ended up sitting in a lounge area above the restaurant and to my surprise the tables remained empty.
If you want to be treated poorly then by all means try this restaurant. What a disappointment. This is my first stay a Montage Hotel and I will be taking my business back to the 4 Seasons from now on.

Dining at Yama is like having a warm and welcoming dinner with family. The salmon tartar is so pretty and delicious; the sushi melts in your mouth; it was difficult to decide what to order as everything sounded so good. To top it off, the amazing Chef Yama made us a few of his special dishes that we did not expect but were so happy to enjoy - they were outstanding! We look forward to our next dinner at Yama!

Legitimately the most tastiest sushi I've had in Utah. We started off with the Yama nachos and Salmon tartare and our minds were blown. The nachos were so full of flavor and the truffle in the tartare was so surprising but so delicious. We thought nothing else on the menu could taste as amazing but the toro (tuna belly) and sake (salmon belly) nigiri and we were instantly proven wrong. Price tag on the toro is hefty but it was worth it. Both nigiri were so fresh, so buttery, almost as if it melted in our mouths. I also had the alpine roll and Yama roll, the alpine being my favorite of the two. You can't go wrong with salmon belly in a roll. The staff were great, friendly, the head chef brought out the sushi rolls himself, explained what the ingredients were and where they came from. True professional and artist in his craft. We also had the Yama fried rice because why wouldn't you want lobster and wagyu stake in a fried rice. It was rich and probably the best tasting fried rice I've had in my recollection. I usually pair my fried rice with a main dish of some sort, but the Yama fried rice, although a small serving, is a meal of its own. We'll be back.

This was our first time dining at Yama Sushi at the Montage, and it was fantastic. The service, ambiance, and food were amazing. Thanks to all who made it a special dining experience. We will definitely dine there again!

Really enjoyed the lobster nachos but for the price and reputation, our expectations were not met through 4 sushi rolls and fried rice. Waiter did an amazing job considering he was the only waiter there. The lounge music next door was delightful. Don't need to return though.

11/10. Best sushi I've ever had. Every little detail about it: the quality of the fish, the preparation, the intricately prepared wasabi, MOST AMAZING TASTE!! And the service was spectacular. I sat at the bar and I really enjoyed talking with the servers and chefs, and the level of SERVICE WAS IMPECCABLE. Very nice setting with lounge area and mountain views. OUTSTANDING meal.
