This place is usually always so good and this time when I took my dad for his first time.. the French Chicken which is my fave... was So Dry!! They were also out of the cheese biscuits which he wanted.. not a good first impression 😩

There aren't many cafeteria style mom and pop places left, and this one is a gem. Check the hours before you go, they are only open a few times a week for a few hours and it is packed. Your food gets served to you very quickly. Everything is made in house. The pear gorgonzola salad is one of my favorites. I also very the ribs and Carolina pulled pork quite often. The decor is airy and cozy and matches the style of cuisine very well. The menu reminds me of a backyard picnic. The only reason I can't give five stars is because the meat tends to be slightly on the drier side, but it's still great. Leave room for dessert!

What more can you say about perfection than it was perfect? I don't know that I've ever had better food in a restaurant or cafe. Large portions, quite inexpensive. It's worth the drive and any waits in line you might have.

I loved this place. The charm is INSANE, the person serving the food made conversation and recommended her favorites, and it just felt like Sunday dinner at my grandparents’ house. The food was high-quality and (I thought) a really good portion size for the price! Especially considering what you can get at McDonald’s nowadays for the exact same amount. Really, really lovely experience here.

Absolutely delicious! We had it reserved for a private event and they were gracious hosts. They even had a high chair and booster for our littles. The restaurant was beautiful, clean and cozy. The food was amazing! Plus the added nostalgia of a cozy diner added to our event.
