I have eaten at El Pollo Loco before and it has been a long while. I ordered a chips and queso (small) a three piece thigh and leg meal with rice and beans, and a plain cheese quesadilla. ( Sharing with my kid's) The rice and beans were bland unfortunately and rice was stuck together and hard in areas(like came from a bag almost) and the chips were stale. I order the classic tostada salad with chicken quite often. This time it was delivered with NO ranch dressing! The salad was dry. I called the restaurant and was told they didn't have any ranch. I asked why they didn't just put the creamy cilantro dressing in the bag. Very disappointed this time!
The chicken itself is delicious and always cooked well while not being dry! I prefer the thigh meat with the juicier cuts. You can order for the whole family and add on an additional 8 pieces for 10 bucks, which is a great deal. Ask about the Creamy Cilantro Ranch, it's really good! The sides are all pretty good, but it seems like you don't get enough of a portion for how much chicken you get. I would give it 5 stars across the board if they would give just a little...
