This place is incredible. They have amazing taste and know how to do coffee and beautiful specialties. Pool table, plant wall, spinning vinyl, great vibes, authentic, knowledgeable staff. Really happy about 801!

This is a high quality coffee shop and cafe that recently opened up in SLC's Marmalade neighborhood. I'm happy it did b/c it's a fantastic stop for when I'm doing business in the area. The atmosphere is very inviting with live plants on the walls, a really nice billiards table and just quality/thoughtful finishes throughout. The meat pies are also really good and I really appreciate not having empty carbs/sugary products like most places. The meat pies are filling, sustainable and delicious. I've had the sausage rool and then chicken curry and mince/cheese ones and can't go back for more. Parking can be a little tricky along 300 W but there is usually a spot or two within a block.

Great coffee, nice atmosphere and the owner is friendly and super passionate about coffee! The vibe is welcoming and comfortable. The homemade chai is amazing and the food offerings are great including sweet and savory pastries. So far I’ve had a meat pie and a quiche which were both awesome. There’s something for everyone here.

Go get you a $2, 7/11 coffee across the street it’s 10x better. Flavorless coffee, nobody is getting coffee and playing pool. Hey let me play a game of pool by myself before I go to work? Almost $30 on 2 coffees and 2 bagels with and they hand me a small sauce cup of cream cheese 😆 anywhere else in the world you’d get laughed at for this. 0/5

Cute vibe but I can get better coffee at 7-11. Overpriced and just overall not worth it. Also who plays pool between 6am-4pm?

Very stylish new coffee shop with a pool table for patrons to play on. The coffee is well prepared and beans are roasted in house. Every detail of this little shop is fine tuned to be pleasing to the eye. The decor and back counter are functionally minimalist giving 801 an instant feeling of cleanliness rather than austerity. Loved the granulated hand soap dispensers in the touch free restrooms (reminded me of primary school 4 decades ago). Nice touches of live plants and a glass enclosed roasting area with a gorgeous new probat drum roaster. My cap was delicious but I found the single shot of espresso a bit over pulled and bitter with an unappetizing tiny amount of too dark brown crema. Great staff and props for using Vosens for the baked goods. Pool table is terribly lit with no shade on the light casting a horror blinding glare into the players eyes which makes playing on the black felt a lesson in humility if you want to shoot the 8 in a corner pocket. Also brownie points for only having 2 syrups (both made in house). Prices are reasonable for hand crafted coffee. And reader beware... I am impossible to please when it comes to coffee so take my critique with a large grain of salt. I'm sure you will be tickled pink by the espresso if anyone but me ever orders it. Also, great soft jazz sets wonderful ambiance for shooting some billiards pretending to be Fast Eddie Felson.

i went here with 4 of my friends and we all got different drinks.. not one of them tasted remotely good. the espresso was watered down, the chai was literally just plain black tea with milk.. the food was alright but would not recommend this place to anyone who actually likes coffee

The double shot Americano (hot) was really good. Perfect roast on the beans. Service was fast also Thanks!

Went for the 1st time and LOVE that they are opened at 6am! For someone who has to be at work by 6:30am there are few options other than chain companies to go to. I actually don't drink coffee so I can't attest to this but I got a limeaid (its normally sparkling, but I got it flat), it was OK not worth the 5$. I also got the sausage roll which was tasty and warm. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was chill. I'll definitely be going back for more pastries and once the weather is cold for some Hot Chocolate.

When was the last time an iced latte gave you a Michelin star culinary experience? Doesn’t happen too often for me, I tell you what!

Good god. These folks know what they’re doing. I ordered a latte with Parmesan syrup and nutmeg because I like to try weird things; most coffee shops TRY to do weird drinks and they’re rarely good - take it from me.
However… when I tell you that I audibly gasped at the superb flavor palette contained in this little 16 oz plastic cup… Truly, phenomenally delicious. I don’t even want to drink the whole thing because it’s so good. It must be preserved in the latte hall of fame.

I might become like Plankton, trying to sneak into the Krusty Krab, to get the secret recipe for this Parmesan syrup. Watch out, 801 Coffee Roasters.

(P.s. I walked home and drank this latte in my backyard and even my cat wanted some. Well done.)

Coffee is good, staff are friendly, but no efficiency at all. Visited on a Sunday afternoon. There were 4 people ahead of me, each got 1 drink, and 1 bagel between the 4 of them. It took me 27 minutes to receive my cortado. Probably won’t be returning again, or if I do, I will make a U-turn if I see even one person ahead of me.
