Mumbai House 2731 E Parleys Way, Salt Lake City Indian • $$

“The food was amazing and Hyat was a perfect host. We had the chicken korma, the pepper chicken and the lamb vindaloo so it was about as varied as it could be and we all agreed that each of them ,although totally different in flavor, were excellent! We also had the poppadoms which my wife had never had and they were a perfect starter. They were light and fresh and we would definitely suggest mixing the two accompanying sauces, And the onion naan bread, which Hyat recommended was fantastic! Did I mention how adorable Hyat was?”

“Been wanting to try this place for a while, and it was absolutely delicious. Everything was seriously SO tasty - chai, snapper, chicken, greens, plantains, even down to the rice and beans - the flavors were incredible. Every bite we took we said "wow, THAT is good." It's truly a fusion restaurant, and they did it perfectly. We knew this place had great reviews, and if I could give 10/5 stars, I would. Would have really loved to try dessert, but we'll save that for next time because we will definitely be back.”

Red Iguana 2 866 W S Temple St, Salt Lake City Mexican • $

“For years, I wasn't a fan of Red Iguana because I was getting the wrong thing for my preferences. This time, I tried one of the combination plates that came with a beef taco, and an enchilada, and a chili relleno. This dish comes with rice and beans, and it is out of this world! Before ordering, we got the mole sampler, and I was able to mix and match two moles on my enchilada. The chips and salsa are also amazing, and my boyfriend's dinner was delicious! The fried ice cream is some of the best I've had! If you go here, get the fried ice cream as dessert! The service was professional, friendly, and fast. Our water was always topped off, and they kept checking on us to see if we needed anything. The ambiance is fun and lively, even during more mellow times.I would come here every week if I could! I love this place!”

“Wanting to try something different, we heard about the Turkish Coffee and wanted to see the process and taste a cup. Parking is really really challenging but once you find a spot, this is a cozy little house with many seating areas. The ordering counter is next to the setup for heating the Turkish Coffee. We enjoyed watching our server heat and pour this traditional cup. We especially enjoyed the seasonings that you could add to flavor the coffee. While it is a small cup, it sure is bold enough and packs a punch :) Glad we could try something different, check it out!”

“If you like Italian food then you have to visit this restaurant in SLC! We went there twice during our 4 day stay. The service was great and so was the food! For appetizers I recommend the whipped Brie and carpaccio. The bread service was also so yummy! As for the entrees we got the risotto, brasato braised beef, truffle pasta which were 10/10. The filet Mingon was also tasty but could use a little bit less salt. Ravioli al Funghi is vegan and also tasted very fresh. As for dessert I would recommend the tiramisu! Honestly everything was flavorful 10/10 recommend.”

“The steak salad here is life changing. I’m not ready to declare it the best steak I’ve ever had, but it is without a doubt the best “add steak to your xxx” I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, the amazing flavor and tenderness of a skirt steak but the leanness of…something leaner, fillet? Really good, we’ll be back. The crispy artichoke side dish was also a stand out, I’d order that again as well.”

“I'd heard rave reviews of the alligator tacos and as the only place in possibly the whole State who serves gator, I knew I had to come to Neutral Ground. I went with a friend who was in from out of town. We both walked in and fell in love with the atmosphere! The whole vibe is very New Orleans. It's very visually appealing. As for the food ?????? AMAZING! The blackened alligator tacos were delish! My favorite dish is a tossup between the andouille sausage flatbread pizza and the fried green tomatoes! The beignets were so good and the dipping sauces only added to the experience. Loved the berry cobbler as well. We truly didn't have a bad bite of food. Our server was next level amazing. He knew when to be attentive and when to hang back. The service was outstanding. Possibly my new favorite restaurant!”

Starbucks 50 Medical Dr N, Salt Lake City Coffee Shops • $

“This Starbucks is probably one of the busiest locations in the valley because it is located in the U of U Hospital and healthcare providers are always tired & overworked. The amount of volume and fast service this location still does is so impressive, I give props to these baristas! Literally they are keeping this hospital going and running. The drinks have always been made properly and have always been just as delicious even with how busy the baristas are. I enjoy Frappuccino's the most, especially the Mocha Cookie Crumble one, so that is my usual order. I think because of the amount of orders that come through in a day, they do not allow online orders to mess with the queue (is what I believe), which may be kind inconvenient for some, but this location is almost purely for healthcare providers, so those who NEED a coffee will come and wait in the long-looking, but actually short line. Most people that come by the Starbucks do no sit in the area, they normally take their drink and go. This is a high-volume, to-go based Starbucks, so the turn over in the area is quite a lot and so there will normally be seats available if you're looking to sit. It may look crowded, but it's just providers waiting for their drink to take back to their unit.”

Panera Bread 3920 W Terminal Dr CAW-2-040, Salt Lake City Cafe • $

“I'm giving this location 5 stars because it's the best deal for your money with regards to Airport food, specifically sandwiches/soups/salads.If you travel as much as I do then you know that most pre-made refrigerated sandwiches and salads offered in most of the airport terminal shops and restaurants are overpriced and lack any decent amount of veggies and meat.Panera is pretty consistent across their locations with portion size, freshness, variety, and price. This location in Concourse A (Delta terminal) is no different. The lines can sometimes get pretty long, so I highly recommend ordering on the app ahead of time after you've gone through TSA security. It's not far from it. You also get your loyalty reward points while doing so!”

Any of their burritos for that matter. But the mini bean and cheese is like half a pound and it’s $1.99. Their beans in general just go so so hard. Tasty coffee, loyalty stamp cards are AWESOME and the little chocolate covered espresso beans are a perfect treat. Muffins are fresh, too, and delicious (especially poppyseed). The drive-thru is a bit peculiar to get in & out of, but once you figure it out, you're smooth sailing. Also, it's right by the giant whale ? so you can't possibly miss it. Valter's Osteria 173 W Broadway, Salt Lake City Italian • $$$$

“Our food at Valter's Osteria was fantastic! My husband and I were looking for a top tier restaurant for our last night in Salt Lake City and Valter's Osteria did not disappoint. The inside of the restaurant is gorgeous but still manages to feel like a family-owned establishment. It is an upscale restaurant even though they do not have a dress code. If you do not want to feel out of place, I suggest dressing up a little bit. It is a fairly small dining space for how busy they are. While I am not a fan of cramped dining, the waiters bus the tables regularly, so you do not typically have too much on your table at any time. The wait staff is also very serious, which I mistook at first. It seems to be the type of high-class atmosphere they are going for and not that they are looking down on you. It made me feel a little small at first but by the time we got our appetizer I was over it.Our waiter, Gustavo, had a lot of good suggestions and we took him up on all of them. We ordered a porchetta, rucola e fontina for our appetizer. It was good and light. For our entrees we ordered veal albese and the nana in porchetta savinese (duck in cognac and grape sauce). I had the veal, and it was really good but the duck dish my husband had was absolutely delicious. It was very different from anything we have eaten before, and I am sure we will order it again if we ever go back to Valter's Osteria. We had to order dessert and the only time our waiter smiled at us was when we were bringing us the desserts. We knew it was going to be good! For dessert we ordered the tiramisu which was so good it almost made me cry. I know that is dramatic, but it was so good, and it made me so happy! We also ordered the lemon gelato with honey and lemon juice, and it was hands down the best dessert my husband and I have ever had at a restaurant. The waiter prepares the dessert table side, and it is really fun to watch. I could go back to Valter's Osteria just for the lemon gelato. It is pretty rare that my husband and I enjoy everything we get at a restaurant, but here everything was absolutely delicious. If you are in the Salt Lake City area and are looking for an incredible Italian restaurant, look no further than Valter's Osteria.”

“PSA: if you actually like ranch dressing, you'll need to order extra since they give you a 1/3-1/2 of what you would need for the amount of food they give you. I'm not asking for a bucket of ranch with my wings, but I actually want to be able to dip of some of the wings in it and not use it all for the veggies. I'm talking one of those little 1-2 oz sauce containers full for a half pound vegan meat and veggies. Had to eat what I could, put my lid on my takeout container and put it in the fridge and wait until the next day to eat it, when I was able to buy some vegan ranch from the grocery store. Luckily all I needed to do was pop the little metal container in the oven and my wings were truly delicious, but I am physically incapable of eating wings without ranch. Whack. Was a Doordash order. Now I know, but first time orderers aren't gonna know. Delicious otherwise.”

Vegan Daddy Meats 569 N 300 W K102, Salt Lake City Vegan • $

“A nice gentlemen held the door open for me while I was looking the place over. I asked if it was good food and he said yes, definitely was correct. I just got the beef sandwich, and was not disappointed, for the price it was a very nicely sized one, it also included a water bottle and some kind of sauce, I think jalapeño? It had a bit of a kick to it which was nice to add to the sandwich. Over all the sandwich is very simple, but very nice for a light lunch. I'll definitely be back sometime.”

Of course, since it is a party facility owned by the Red Iguana Restaurant, how can you say anything wouldn't be top notch?”

“I had never heard of this place and was excited to try it out. It’s a beautiful restaurant on the inside, very nicely decorated. Each table has its own space and there were some larger rooms for bigger groups. The staff were incredible. They’re driving the 5-stars as the food was decent, but nothing too impressive. The egg drop soup was hot but lacked any kind of flavor. The edamame needed to be steamed for a few more minutes as half were still cold and very few popped open very well. The sushi rolls were pretty solid. Nothing glaringly wrong with them and we ate all of the rolls we ordered. The kung pao chicken was very salty, borderline inedible. The fried rice with it was delicious as were the gyoza and the egg roll.”

“This place is chic, service is exceptional and sushi is fresh and delicious. We ordered toro sashimi, Stargazer and mercury roll, but when the toro came it was a grayish white color which had us worried. Everyone who loves sushi knows that Toro is supposed to be pink... but the waitress was really really helpful. She not only asked the kitchen staff about the reason for the color, she also returned the dish back to the kitchen after we said we didn't want it. We then ordered a wagyu steak fearing for their fish quality, but the rest of the sushi rolls were amazing with big chunks of juicy sashimi inside. I'm pretty sure Stargazer had bluefin tuna on the topping. The wagyu was delicious as well. cooked to perfection for both the meat and the lightly battered tempura asparagus. Over all pretty satisfying experience. I hope the toro sashimi was just a random error. Coming back to try more next time!”

Lake Effect 155 W 200 S, Salt Lake City Bar • $$

“The atmosphere and decor was really cool, but the table and the chairs we were sat at weren't comfortable for 6 people. Our waiter was very nice, when he ever came around, it took a long time in between drinks for him to return. Our food was good, but they missed one person's order, so their dish arrived when everyone else's were almost finished. The liquor selection is impressive, but my experience there was not. I'll try again for brunch, a lot of people have said that's a far better time to go.”

Current Fish and Oyster 279 E 300 S, Salt Lake City Seafood • $$$

“High end restaurant. Pretty busy. Attentive servers. Good and high quality food. Good size menu( not too many options but enough options to choose a protein you like) . It was three of us. We shared Spanish octopus and grilled carrots for appetizers for table. We also got bottles of wine and two orders of bread for the table. My friend got branzila ( I think this is how to write the fish name, it was not in the menu), I ordered the fish stew and other friend orders the scallop and all of them were very yummy. Don’t plan on sharing any main dish or don’t plan to have leftovers. Portions look ok and I thought I was full when left the restaurant but I was still feeling hungry after. We got special waiters because my friend used to work there and they made sure we had a good time.Parking: Paid 2 hours street parkingKid-friendliness: No kid”

“HOLY COW! This place is simply amazing! I had no idea what to order on the menu, but our kind server explained and recommended things and HE WAS RIGHT! Everything was so delicious. I had the pasta with an exquisite Butternut Squash sauce. My husband had the filet and loved it. We were treated like royalty. Loved every second and morsel. We will be back. I don't think you'd find one bad thing on this menu. The chefs are extraordinary.”

“We were seated immediately, the service was amazing and very friendly. The decor was fun and there was always something to look at. The food was delicious and came hot and is great for eating with family. The manager/co-owner was amazing and did more than he needed to do. And if you chose one desert, get the chocolate cake; it is the best chocolate cake you will ever get, and even when shared it is still fulfilling and so rich and amazing.”

Koyote 551 W 400 N, Salt Lake City Japanese • $$

“Awesome Shoyu and Tsukemen ramen, probably the best in Utah. Usually need to wait if you're not getting here right at opening especially on a weekend night. Would love to see their menu rotate in the future and add on some Shio or Tonkotsu. Also would be nice to have some weather protection out front for all the people waiting to eat.”

Roux Restaurant 515 E 300 S, Salt Lake City Italian • $$

“My wife and I have been excited to try this place! The environment and decor is great. The service was awesome. The food was really good. We would definitely come back. We went right after it opened and they didn't have their liquor license yet which they said they should have soon. We got the smoked trout dip (4/5) the chips were especially good. The risotto (1.5/5) was our least favorite. It was a little crunchy and the green apples in it didn't really compliment the dish. The braised beef and hummus was INCREDIBLE (6/5). So so tasty and tender. The pomegranate molasses was such a nice touch and the flat bread was awesome. Speaking of which the bread they bring out at the beginning also INCREDIBLE (6/5). We also got the smoked pastrami and charred cabbage (4/5). It was a yummy dish. I don't think I'd get it again. Surprisingly the charred cabbage was the star of the show, not the pastrami but it was still an enjoyable dish to try. We will definitely be back to Roux!”

“Had lunch from Tacos el Gordis today with my colleague and we are both blown away. We've both no strangers to food trucks and carts, but Tacos el Gordis blows them out of the water. I had the cubana torta and my colleague had the asada burrito and we loved every single bite. I will be coming back here because quite honestly, the food is better than 90% of what's out there.”

The Burger and Mac Shack 1923 E Murray Holladay Rd, Salt Lake City Fast Food • $

“Found this little gem of burger jont in the holiday area of Salt Lake. Had their lunch special (cheese burger and curly fries) and was pleasantly wow! The fries we cooked to a golden crispy brown (you'd be surprised how often this is screwed up) and the burger was done to perfection (not greasy or over cooked)! I also got a side of their Mac& cheese which was on point! Sadly, I didn't know that there was an pulled pork option for this until after I ate... Guess I'll have to go back (such a shame ?)!The staff (owner) came out to my table to personally ensure that everything was great and was extremely nice (this alone is why I give it the review I do). Keep it up guys, you're killing it!! I'll be back for more!Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp directly in front of the main door and the spaces to park in are in the perfect location.”

“Abby's the BEST!This is my third visit to this new location. First two times through the drive up were bad, very poor service (missing utensils and order wrong) and an unfriendly, disinterested window girl. This time Abby greeted me with a smile and hello, very friendly and engaged and even put extra utensils (for the desert) without even asking for them. Definitely an improvement. Keep improving and we'll keep coming! Thanks again Abby!”
